A must have kitchen gadget!
This is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets! I use it to mince up nuts, egg yolks for deviled eggs, etc. I had one for years and used it a lot but I move a lot and somehow the original got lost. I was so happy to find it again! It is so clever! turning the crank one way makes smaller pieces than turning it the opposite way! And it is a bear to clean if you do not have a dishwasher - if you do, just put it in and it comes out like new!

Progressive Nut Chopper
For a hand crank chopper, this one works quite well. I like the hinged top and the very sturdy bottom that protects my countertop. Pleased!

Works as expected, with expected sturdiness. Very convenient.
My grandmother used to have a very similar device to chop nuts when I was a kid. I've been considering buying one of these... And I'm glad I did. Frozen peacon halves were my first test... A little difficult to turn the handle. The next test was refrigerated pecan halves... Worked great. I will update this review when I chop whole Brazil nuts for my next ice cream.

Please read if you want to slice almonds
I bought this device on the strength of number of buyers and high scores. Wish I had read actual reviews as part of my consideration. After it arrived, I returned here to read how to change chopping pattern and any tips of cleaning and I read the reviews about difficulty in handling almonds. Glad I did or I would have destroyed this on first use.It is essential not to load it to the top with almonds just enough to cover the bottom. When grinding put forefinger and change to thumb on the part coming out of the device to transfer some of the pressure when turning the handle. Better yet, just use the handle starting at the bottom then rock about an eighth of a turn one way then the next.As far as value, I think this would be better prices around $10 and at the risk of being labeled unpatriotic by the orange one, I suspect the current price reflects the tariffs. If this lasts beyond 3 months, I'll add a star for durability sake.

Terrible: very hard to grind, not efficient.
I eat a lot of walnuts, and have used a nut grinder at least monthly for 30+ years. I have had several nut grinders over the years, and this one is by far the worst. I am strong and can barely grind this one - anyone elderly will not be able to turn the crank. In addition, many of the ground nuts get flung back into the top part, so by the time I had 1 cup below, there was probably 1/2 cup cut on top, making a huge mess. I've used it about 5 times all with the same results and was so frustrated I threw it away. I originally bought this based upon several grinder reviews online, but all I can guess it that the people reviewing either don't grind nuts or don't cook as this grinder does not work. Buy another brand.

Traded in my Cuisinart
Cheap . Plastic. But it works! I traded in my Cuisinart because it was mushing up my nuts. And let's face it, there's nothing worse than when your nuts get mushed. This isnt going to survive a nuclear bomb blast, but neither will you. Easy to clean, you just run water through it while you close the one lid and it completely floods out the entire device then you can swish water back and forth. So if you don't mind looking like a monkey organ grinder in a circus, this will definitely do the trick

Got it to have more almonds on strawberry sunday
I just got it today and it does what I wanted it to. I needed it in order to make my own strawberry sundays because braums doesn't put much almonds on them, and they came out at the same size as braums almonds does. Some people complained about the dust but that's unavoidable even if you were to hand chop the almonds, all you need to do is put them in a mesh filter and shake it over your trash can to get the dust out, here's a photo of mine
