Amazing academic or prototype-grade data acquisition device, especially for the price

The U3-HV USB DAQ is a wonderful beginner-to-intermediate level data acquisition device, at a price that makes it easily the most affordable and best valued device in its class.Software/internals review:It comes with the cables you need to get started, and the necessary software can be found on LabJack's website. LabJack supplies many tutorials for the device from "how to set it up" to more advanced programming examples and specialty feature guidelines. The device has a straightforward settings/control panel software, and LabJack offers a free pre-made data acquisition software that works very well for beginners and allows the tester to utilize almost all the features of the device. For the more experienced user, LabJack supplies a library of LabView programming examples which you can build off of and learn from to make your own custom DAQ interface or virtual instrument.Hardware review:The device has a great amount of inputs for its size and the majority of the device's terminals are configurable. The ground point of the device is always the ground point of the computer it's attached to, so it's very easy to avoid ground loops when wiring several instruments to the device. The high-voltage inputs perform well, and it's easy to change the configuration of the flexible i/o terminals. The device also has an optional expansion in the case that more inputs are needed. The enclosure is a solid plastic, and the mounting holes make it easy to install the device to the side panel of a test bed or similar.Overall, this is a great data acquisition device that I found to be surprisingly easy to use compared to National Instruments or DATAQ products, and the amount of functionality you get for the price is unbeatable.

Bear inexpensive DAQ

Works very well for scientific research. It takes minutes to implement in Python and works better than some DAQs that cost over 10x as much.

Easy to Use A2D

I needed a multichanned A2D and this thing works great. The software that comes with this device records and displays the data at any data rate you need up to very fast. However there seems to be some issues using the dll that it comes with although you can code around the issues.

Great simple DAQ. Simpler and cheaper than NI's USB DAQs

I used these for PID oven control. They are simple to install. The driver is just 50MB instead of 1.5GB+ from NI for their DAQ devices. Very easy to use, tons of example VIs, matlab or C programs available in website.

I am not sure why I bought this, it didnt live up to my expectations for the product. In fact I need to see about selling it again.
