Used this in a pirate chest of lovely things that received a very high bid at a fund raiser. I think this glass bauble really sold people on the chest.

But if I wanted to gift it in the box, that wouldn’t be good.Don’t remember how big the product details claimed it was? But the exact size isn’t a big issue for me. But there’s a measurement pic included.I am using it to top a green velvet birthday cake for a May birthday, however I was concerned with the weight.The shipping label reads .4 lbs and the packaging is pretty inconsequentialWeight wise, so it’s a decent weight.It really is beautiful.It will look gorgeous as a decoration or paperweight.And it would make a nice gift.

We bought this as a prop for Halloween Costume (Scarlett Overkill) and my daughter loved it. Large size and feels "real". Only disappointed about the coloring (not as bright as some others I've seen for sale) but the pictures do show an accurate color representation.I saw a comment that the bottom was sharp. When I told the youngling to be careful because it might be sharp, she proudly held it up between thumb and forefinger and said it's okay, it doesn't hurt. So while a little pokey it's not bad.

Ancient times considered a ruby to be the most prized jewel. Wanted this as the main jewel for a king costume scepter. I did not like the scepters for purchase on website and was too small. So, took a window curtain rod I found at Lowe's with the open round ends, my husband cut the top enough to slide the jewel in and cut slits to hold the jewel in place, added a bit of solder to the base to hold the point of the jewel in place, and it looks like a giant prong of an engagement ring. I covered the jewel and painted the rod brass color gold. I added diamond looking crystals around the base of the prong. It looks amazing. Everyone commented on it and wanted to purchase one for their children for play. Great quality jewel, quick shipping, and exactly what I wanted. Great Purchase.
