Spacious, Inexpensive, Quiet case

I was debating on getting the Fractal Design Define 7 XL, but the price was too steep until I stumbled on this one. Made a good decision on purchasing this case, it has what I am looking for. I got the E-ATX variant of the case and comparing the dimensions with the regular variant, it has a slight difference in dimensions and seems to satisfy my needs. I have used a variety of cases including from brands coming from Cooler Master, Corsair and Fractal Design. I bought the case to assemble a home server. It is definitely quiet, and not loud. My current cable management is not bad. But, I do not think it will be pretty considering in future use of other storage devices. You can fit lots of drives into it. There is however a few design flaws. One flaw I noticed is that the controller that operates the case fans does not seem to have enough adhesive to stick to the case, not like you need the controller anyway as you can connect them directly to the motherboard. Not necessarily a problem for myself at the moment, but another flaw is having to keep opening the drive bays to insert HDDs or SSDs. Anyhow, the case is compact and for its price I would definitely purchase again when the time has me decide on choosing a case.

This is an incredible server case.

I bought this to put together my home server and it turned out incredible. If you put the drives in with the cables on the open side of the case then you have plenty of room for the cables. It also has plenty of room for a graphics card if you want to do some local AI stuff like I did. It's well constructed, very modern looking, plenty of room inside for a build, tons of room for storage drives. I had no issues at all with the case. The price is just unbeatable for what you get. I highly recommend this case.

Lots of drive space? Maybe...

While this case boasts of being able to hold a large amount of 3.5" drives, I find the mounting cages make it nearly impossible without having to put a large amount of strain on the SATA cables. You need a healthy mix of 90deg and straight plugs in order to use as many of the available spaces as you can. You can not use a 90deg SATA cable on any drive in the lower positions in any of the cages because of the lip that goes around it. The drive cage on the lowest level is pretty useless except to have a place to coil up all your cable slack. The fit is really tight. The cable routing is beyond lackluster in this case as well. The functionality of the cable management holes is not great because they aren't exactly in user friendly places. The drive cage covers one of them. Routing the front panel USB cable put such a strain on my mobo that it nearly broke the plug. The cable was far too stiff to route any other way than the way I finally managed to get it to go.Other than those flaws, this isn't really a bad case if you want good airflow and space to store a bunch of drives. It looks great put together, and other than fighting cables and plugs it was pretty easy to assemble for the most part.

10 bays for a NAS

Do you need like 10 bays for your Linux ISOs? Sure we all do! This case is CHEAP and holds tons of drives and accommodates a wide range of motherboard sizes.Likes:-Came with fans and screws and hardware including a 1 to 3 fan splitter-Sturdy enough constructionDislikes:-No easy to install disk caddies - each disk must be screwed into a caddy-The caddy that the disks screw into hold two disks each, you cannot remove a disk from the caddy without removing the four screws that hold the caddy to the case itself. Not awful but if you swap drives frequently this will get old fast.Overall this case is a fantastic value for the size of it, very satisfied with this purchase

Roomy Case

Nice heavy duty case with lots of drive bays. I built a Blue Iris DVR and needed alot of storage. This worked perfectly. The drives mounted solid and it had enough cooling to be efficient. Its fairly quiet but still performs as it should. It would be a good case for NVR, NAS or a gaming machine.

Flimsy and inconvenient but generally works

This is clear in the description but I'll repeat it: this case doesn't hold five inch drives, so if you have an optical drive that means you'll have to get some kind of external case for it or replace it with an external drive. I don't know why a case wouldn't hold an optical drive since optical media still exists.Everything in the case is flimsy metal. The complaints about the drive cages are true. They're thin and easily bent. These cages holding your two heavy hard drives are simply hanging from four screws onto vertical rails. Aligning the cage screws is a pain since there is no physical guide for the cage to fit into -- you have to move them around until they're correct. I found that I even had to press the cage against the rail for the screws to reach the cage -- apparently something was bent. When you remove the four screws, the cage simply falls out since nothing else is supporting it. You need one hand on one side of the case to remove the screws and another hand on the other side to catch the cage when it comes out! Also the cages aren't flush with the back of the drives. This meant that my right angle SATA cables wouldn't work with the bottom drive in the drive cages because the connector wouldn't reach the drive. Fortunately the supplied right angle SATA cables do work. The USB3 cable only gives you one of the two USB ports. Would it have been hard to put two USB3 ports on the case since there are two USB2 ports? The power and reset buttons on the top are easy to press accidentally, especially when you're trying to remove a drive cage.I agree with the complaints about the flimsy doors. Plan an extra minute of fiddling to get them closed. It doesn't feel good when you close the door pressing the SATA and drive power cables against it but that's what you have to do to get it closed. With all these annoyances the case does work as advertised. There are no step-by-step instructions but the sheets do explain where each shape of screw goes (they're all one bag). There are no suggestions on cable routing so you'll have to figure that out yourself. As you would expect the four 120mm fans and the open grill top provide excellent ventilation and the fans are extremely quiet.
