This is a nice little kit with an ESP32 development board and camera for a very reasonable price. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. With the included GPIO breakout board, connections for prototyping are super easy. I will be reusing the GPIO breakout board again for other ESP32 projects.The Freenove customer service is excellent and responsive. I had a minor issue with one of the components and it was taken care of to my satisfaction. Will definately be buying their stuff in the future for other IoT projects.The code provided for the lessons don't always work without a tweak or two (for instance sketch5.1, the RGB LED on mine displays various shades and intensities of green. Supposed to be random colors). I ran a program I wrote to test an RGB LED and it worked flawlessly. YMMV.All in all, I found this to be a valuable kit and I would buy it again.

The kit including 141 parts, good start for ESP32 program and projects. The GPIO board is a plus. The breadboard could be better quality.

You get the camera which has great resolution and range. I received a good picture from 25 feet and 2 rooms away with a closed door and a closed glass slider between the camera and router. The tutorials are good. I should have started here with my camera purchase and saved a lot of aggravation. The break-out board that comes with it more than justifies the price for this ESP32 package. Break-out board: Freenove ESP32 GPIO Extension Board. The picture image can be jumpy at times, but I believe that to be a feature of the hardware and the fact that my camera is on a moving robot. I had almost given up having video transmission on my robot project. Good Luck, JD3

Not exactly an absolute beginner kit, for that you're better off with an Arduino UNO. BUT - if you are past that level, this is a REALLY nice next-level kit; lots of libraries and sketches. The support team was very responsive and quick to reply.You will need to download the Arduino IDE and ESP32 support files within the IDE. There are some ESP32 board settings you need to set in the IDE to upload the compiled sketches. I didn't see that info inside the documentation files :-(After that it's pretty much like any Arduino and quite fun to tinker with.

Excellent had a question and got it answered. Nice documentation and the documentation is vital. Not for a beginner but a beginner could assemble and operate with some background. Software tools and computer languages are used in a complex program. If you want to study or modify it is commentated. If it's you first swim this is deeper than arduino. If your interested in internet of things or embedded systems this is fun and clear. I would suggest other things if you don't have a computer language and cant understand the code. C at least. Arduino is easier and quicker to pick up if this is your interest C and Python are good backgrounds.

I liked the gpio break out connector that makes using the chip with a breadboard easy. I saw it had a camera to play with, I don't have a need for a camera but that was something new to play with.Since I've had the Arduino IDE installed for a while and it has been a while since I played with a esp32, my libraries were out of date which made getting the camera examples fail to compile. Once I realized how old my library was, I downloaded the newest one and the camera examples worked.I'll likely by another kit or two as the gpio breakout makes it easy to use a bread board.
