I recently acquired a ZX Spectrum Next on Kickstarter and wanted to connect it to my Sonos Ray soundbar which sits on my desk. Problem is that the Sonos only accepts a digital optical input, which is where this little gadget comes in. It takes an analogue input (via a stereo RCA cable) and converts to an optical out. Worked perfectly in my scenario and sounded great. Recommended!

My Cambridge Audio Azur 851e pre-amp developed a volume control fault, so while in for repair decided to use 851n in pre-amp mode which while good only has digital inputs so needed a way to convert a analogue signal to digital, ie, turntable & bi-amped left/right front channels of surround amp (651r).This amazing device used with a rca spitter and coaxial cable out, works a treat,cannot notice any drop in audio quality,easy to install,powered via a usb, also it is tiny so hides away nicely.A great fix until I get my pre-amp returned.Highly recommended & fantastic value. 5 *****

Works perfectly as described and expected.

This is an analogue to digital converter. I say that, because whenever I've searched for such a device, the algorithms mostly flip that and present a Digital -> Analogue instead.So in that sense, it's quite unique!. I'm using it to covert the headphone output of my Mac mini - into digital format that then ultimately feeds my SONOS ARC Sound bar. I was concerned that there might be a sound delay during conversion - but, if there is, I can't see any. The sound quality is also great. Very pleased with the result!

It works

This has got to be the best value for money and best kept secret I have discovered in 40 years of buying hifi products. I have a heavily modified, audiophile headphone amplifier which, I use for listening to vinyl. This little device converting the analog signal from my turntable to my Beresford caiman seg dac destroys my existing analog amp. No contest, the ADC is that good.Feeding the dac via toslink there is no hum. Crystal clear sound without losing that lovely vinyl warmth. Soundstage, the decay of cymbals and intricate detail is incredible. A lot is testament to the excellent dac but am sure it will work excellently in any systemJust buy one!

Not much to say. Bought this to convert analog audio from an old projector to optical input of my soundbar works perfectly. Only slightly annoying things - 1) bright blue led indicator which in a dark cinema room needs taping over 2) signal loss/no amplification volume ends up much lower. But great price and works.

Brilliant for what I wanted it for sometimes it just needs to be reset by unplugging the power if there's no sound.
