Worth the purchase!
Great functionality and battery life it also will beep when you go into a different speed zone. The route accuracy has been correct every time I have used it while traveling from Tennessee to Florida. The screen size is good and does not block my vision of the road in any way. It is a good value for your money.

Put it in the right location
Initially I just left it lay on my console not wanting it mounted on the windshield. However it kept losing signal. So I repositioned it to the windshield up by the rear view mirror using the suction cup attachment.Works like a charm now. Updates are straight forward. Put the program on my computer and even this 60 plus year old can do it!

Not for me
I never had a chance to use this so I can't offer an opinion on the functions. My reason for only 4 stars is the included cable. It was very short making it impossible for me to use it in my suv. I was going to use a suction mount on the passenger side window, my daughter would be managing it, as the dash material isn't smooth and I didn't want to use a sticky mount. I couldn't afford to get it hardwired thus the final straw for me. Oh well, we ended up using online maps for our trip and it worked out for us.

Nice GPS
Had to return a different GPS as it would tell the wife to turn around if she ignored the misdirection of that device. This is working perfectly. Easy to program and enter addresses; quickly recalculates if a turn is missed. Great battery life noted on our one trip with it so far. Shape is sleek but not as stable as old Garmin unit unless inserted in the supplied mount, which the wife doesn't want to "bother with". Update was a breeze with the app and a PC.

Great unit with a very fair price.
This is a simple GPS without the complications of more deluxe models. It is very affordable and does everything I need my GPS to do. Add to that the next day delivery and this Garmin system is a no brainer.

Bought this for family member who was somehow using car gps last updated to long ago. Family loves it. Great purchase for someone traveling across country where cell phone may not work

Replacement For A Previous Garmin
Our new car doesn't have a GPS unless I hook up my smartphone to the screen in the car. My husband doesn't have a smartphone and I'm not always with him. We left the other unit in the car we sold to a family member so I told him I would get him another Garmin to have in the car for him to use. We have been very pleased with all our Garmin units that we have had. Depending on the unit some have a great value that won't break the bank. We haven't used this one for very long but it functions quite well for the usage we have given it. Overall, we have been pleased with it.

It's the only one out there
Most people use on board GPS in their cars, unless you have an older car. Then they use their phones, which to me is silly.I wanted a stand alone GPS without having to keep my $40 Trac phone in a cradle, hooked up to a charger. Looks like Garmin is the last company to make such a thing. This is very much like my older Garmin that I have used for well over a decade. Oddly it came with no instructions, they are built in and menu driven so you have to turn it on. Update it right away, the screen says it will take hours (took about five minutes for software and map updates). All GPS have a tendency to take you convoluted routes, Garmin does as well. I haven't run this on the road yet, but EVERY GPS/Phone or whatever will occasionally be a bit slow and turn into my mother in law "you should have turned back there". I purchased the 7 inch screen which is small for some, I prefer seeing more of the road. I'm very happy with it.
