Prewett's Instant Organic Chicory Drink 100g (Pack of 3)

I love chicory for a caffeine free alternative to coffee. This one is smooth & tasty and makes a lovely chico-ccino.

I have used this chicory as a coffee substitute for a few years now since I was told to avoid caffeine. Why waste my time on decaf coffee when I can have this?! It's delicious and I always take some in a small bottle when I'm out so that I can have it when others are having coffee (and usually coffee shops don't mind when I explain the intolerance and charge me a minimal amount for hot water and a splash of milk. One barista in Smithfield market asked to taste it and said it was so good they may well start to stock it! The bottles always come exceptionally well wrapped and very quickly. I like the taste of the other one that Prewetts do which is roasted, but this organic one, whilst tasting slightly different but better for me, is delicious too. Highly recommended.

Taste is nice

Have been buying this in bulk for the last few months after trying a jar. It is a good coffee alternative with a rich flavour. I really like the taste, but my daughter does not enjoy it at all. More for me I guess.I would suggest getting a single jar and just going all in to see if you like it or can get accustomed to the taste.Only criticism is that this is as expensive as a good brand of coffee, so if you aren't desperate to switch i.e. not a heavy coffee drinker looking for an out, then you may want to stick with regular coffee. Unless you just want to move away from coffee because it is not all that good for your gut.

Very good taste, healthy decaf coffee.

I was dubious at first but did my research prior to going off caffeine. My morning ritual always involved a cuppa coffee and was so sad to know I’d miss out. I made the switch to caffeine free and gave it a go. My chicory ‘coffee’ arrived the following day and begrudgingly poured myself a cuppa. I was in shock, not only did it taste very similar to coffee, it didn’t disappoint. If felt like nothing had changed, sans the caffeine. Highly, highly recommend if you want to switch to a caffeine free alternative. I love it so much I bought another 6 x jars. Marking it down a star as the shelf life once opened it quite short.

I wasn't sure quite what to expect when I ordered this. I really love coffee as long as its not too terribly strong and has milk and sweetener in it. I was gutted when my doctor told me to cut it all caffeine due to some heath issues nearly 3 months ago.After doing a lot of research, I decided this seemed to be the best option and bought a jar of it. In my opinion, the taste is quite a lot like coffee with an added almost caramel flavour. In fact, I have questioned my partner several times as I thought he may have mistakenly made me a real coffee. I do have to add more of this than I would normal instant coffee as the flavour is a bit weak but that's easily remedied. I've since ordered (and used) 6 more jars of the stuff so clearly I am happy with it.I also purchased some dandelion root and cinnamon sticks which I occasionally roast, boil, and add to the powder for a 'fancy coffee' which is actually very nice but a bit of an effort so I only do this on rare occasions but it is worth recommending.

I got to be a real coffee monster about a year ago. 12 cups a day at least. I consumed so much caffeine that it actually made my eyelashes start to grow (yes, that is a thing!) So I decided to dial it back and spent the next six months or so trying all the alternatives I could. And this is the one I settled on. I'll be straight with your here, I still prefer the real stuff, but this is the best replacement I've found. Over the time I've been drinking it, speed of delivery has improved so it's almost a next day delivery. If you need to kick the caffeine or ease it back, this is what I'd recommend. But, of course, it is all about personal taste!
