Best beginner plumbing book
Best beginner plumbing book! When i was learing my trade i found this book very helpful. College would cover more technical imformation but what is more important when you're a novice is being able to do simple tasks to build confidence, and this book makes it easy. I found it very well illustrated, and covering the names of parts to simple things like a tap, which you don't get taught at college and your journeyman won't know ether. This book covers the most important parts of solar heating, underfloor heating etc and explains in great detail how things like taps and siphons work. It covers all types of basins and baths to give you the ability to creatively design your own bathroom to your taste. Very informative book for DIY or apprentices.

Excellent reference book.
A reference book, discover whether you need a plumber, or you can solve the problem yourself.

I changed a tap washer recently
The tap wouldn't - diss-assemble so I I had to saw the tap off the sink. So then I had to fit two new taps and since I had problems gettint the spanner to get at the taps to remove them - when I did finally remove them I also made sure to refit flexible tapwater pipes. Also one of the stoptaps under the sink was leaking so ....etc etc. In doing this I also kicked the toilet and had to refix it onto the floor. If it happens again it will be a doddle to do it.But we did this ourself my wife and I - and all it cost apart from busted knuckles and a bad back for a fortnight was the price of the parts and we are chuffed with ourselves I have saved a lot of money and the job looks really good - better than before.. This book is the business what more can I say

Same as Collins DIY manual
Very informative and I would rate it 5 stars normally. However, unfortunately the description is incorrect: this is NOT an extension of the Collins DIY manual, but an exact copy of the information in there.

Finely tuned information with plenty of pictures.
Brilliant book gives me good preparation for starting my plumbing course next week, I have to get the certificate if not the book would be excellent on it's own.

Good investment
As a DIY amature and first time home owner - every house you find has some teething issues. I have spent a fortune on plumpers so far to attend what resulted in minor fixes - however this has already enabled me to correct and sort out some other minor issues around the house that would otherwise be - impactful to day to day life or expensive to get a professional plumber to sort!

A bit general.
It's ok. I was expecting more depth.
