A brilliant tool
I previously bought this tin opener and it made opening tins a breeze, while it still works it is slower as the cogs have become worn. So I thought I'd get another one as I was sure it was ages ago that I had bought the first. Went to Amazon and my order history said 'You last bought this item in 2013'!. Well that speaks for itself. And even better, the price had reduced by £2.00. Highly recommended

Great little tin
Bought this for my campervan as it takes out so much less room and some of the big bulky ones and worked really well would buy again

Best can opener!
The media could not be loaded. Very lightweight, and durable. It wont get rusty in the long run. I really love how it cuts the can so well that makes it safe hold and to dispose.

WL Housewares reincarnated!
Like Cal (02/05/12), I've been using a "WL" can opener for around 20 years. It's been brilliant! It does a great job and is easy to use, and has certainly had a very very long life. Of late though, it has started to slip a little on every alternative half turn. I've been searching for a replacement for some time, but feared that WL openers were so good, they'd gone out of business.I was delighted when I came across this Culinare model, as it is the same model. Perhaps not actually from the same mould though, as the handle is just slightly longer by a few millimetres. Having done a little digging on Google, I do believe that the Culinare Lift Off is the direct descendent of the WL model. My old opener was marked WL Housewares. WL seems to stand for William Levene. Inside the handle is the company name Mike & Kremmel Ltd.The Culinare opener also bears the name Mike & Kremmel Ltd inside the handle.William Levene Ltd (whose brands included several other well known names such as Cole & Mason) was acquired by Diethelm Keller Brands Ltd in 2006 (DKB Household UK). Long Live the "Lift Off"!

The best!
Bought one of these many years ago and sadly it became blunt. Have tried other makes but this one is the gold standard so was very happy to find the same model on Amazon. Nothing else compares.

easy to use and effective
my partner bought an expensive (£15) stainless steel tin opener and for months i had thought i must be doing something wrong as i found it incredibly difficult, often impossible, to open tins with it. it was heavy and the part you turn had hard metal edges that hurt my fingers. plus it left the lid of the can with a razorsharp edge, making lifting it off a risky task. i finally decided to buy this Culinare lift-off as it is the style of tin opener i have had in the past. it lifts off the whole lid safely, making tin-opening no longer a frustrating activity for me. my partner reluctantly admits that it works far better than his and we now only use this one. all tin openers are not the same - and this one is so simple, lightweight and unfussy yet does a far better job than more expensive ones. i really recommend it.

Does the job!
Leaves a very very sharp tin when the top is removed! Could cut someone very badly!
