Built like a tank! Very good quality.

This is a strong and sturdy network rack. It's built like a tank, and it needs to be. I'm sure glad it's on wheels. You can supposedly mount it on the wall, but once all my gear is in it, I'm guessing it's pushing 130 pounds, which is its recommended weight limit. The rack and UPS (a Cyberpower CP1500PFCRM2U) alone are 61 and 32 pounds respectively. The 450mm depth is generally sized for network gear. Stereo gear will probably require the deeper 600mm unit. The included fans are indeed loud, so I replaced them with two of these fans:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZRKTBZThe fan noise is now much softer and quieter. The rack is located in a closet and you don't notice the fans running. In fact, since the rack doesn't generate a lot of heat anyways, I decided to leave the fans switched off except on very hot days.In the rack, I have a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro, a Synology DS412+ NAS, a 24-port rack-mount patch panel, the rack-mount UPS, 2 ethernet switches, a nice ADJ Pow-R Bar with illuminated indicators, and a Navepoint 2U Drawer to store manuals, spare patch cables, hardware, etc. My rack is about 70% full, with room for a few more items should the need arise. Did I mention that I'm sure glad it's on wheels?Don't assemble the side and back panels, or the front door, until you've installed all of your equipment. Trust me - you'll be moving stuff around before you're happy with it. To initially install your equipment, lay the rack on its back and drop the items in from above. This lets you visualize and determine where everything needs to go, and to place all the caged-nuts in the proper locations on the brackets. By the way, buy yourself some extra M6 caged nuts, and screws:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09S3B7YKF.As for the assembly process - I'm sure glad it's over. It was a long, tedious process. Many times I would misposition something and have to take it back apart and do it again. Shelves or brackets wouldn't line up and it was because I had miscounted the bracket-holes and mounted items incorrectly. Nothing wrong with the product, and the instructions were simple enough - it was just my senior eyes not seeing what I should have been seeing. I've assembled, disassembled, and repaired automotive engines, countless kid's toys, grandkid's toys, household appliances, webstore furniture; you name it, I've probably assembled it, so I actually looked forward to assembling this rack, and I'm glad I did it; but let me warn you, this is the king of erector sets! You might want to entice some mechanically-inclined young'n to assemble this for you. No mistakes, 4 hours. Lots of mistakes, 2 days and a new vocabulary of curse words. OCD for details (my problem) - a week, with some weight-loss.

Great Quality and Value

I purchased the 22U model of this network rack and I'm very impressed. It arrived well packaged and not a single piece inside had any damage. The instructions were well illustrated and overall easy to follow. This is my first purchase from NavePoint and I'll gladly buy their products again. The cabinet is made of pretty heavy duty metal and feels expensive. All of the holes for screws line up well and I had no issues with assembly. Like other reviewers, my door touches the cabinet frame on the bottom left corner (opposite the hinge). Knowing this ahead of time, I purposely only tightened all screws to about 60% while I assembled, and then at the end I laid the cabinet flat on its backside and tightened everything up. I thought this would align it, but it just seems to be a flaw in design somehow. Nonetheless, as you close the door, simply lift up slightly and it closes just fine. It's not like you're going into this cabinet daily anyways. My only wish is that the rear panel also had "quick release" locks on it. Instead, it is screwed on with 6 screws. Only the side panels are quick release. Being a 22U cabinet, it's pretty tall and naturally it has a little flex to it. But nothing of structural concern. Especially once you load it up with equipment. The included fans really pump out some air, but they are indeed loud. They sound like a swarm of bees. They look easy enough to replace with a quieter set of 120mm fans.Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and highly recommend this cabinet. Don't be scared off by the reviews about shipping damage, I think that's a thing of the past.

A budget cabinet

First and foremost this review is still fairly new and will be updated as time progresses.I recently took a shot at ordering this (22U Server Cabinet). While the reviews that I read said it was flimsy, the instructions were poor, and so on and so forth I couldn't get away from the price tag at about half of what a competitor could offer.Delivery: From what I read/seen in the reviews, a good amount of customers received their cabinets damaged from lack of proper packaging. I did not have this issue. The box I received was double boxed which leads me to believe they took the feedback and invested to make changes in their packaging so gold star for them. I really appreciate it if they did make changes based on feedback, if this is not the case then well I got lucky.Instructions: Yet another hit that was covered across the reviews that I read were the instructions were very poor. This I can attest too. The instructions received weren't the best although the rack goes together with ease a more detailed explanation would absolutely be helpful and I urge the supplier to make changes. I followed them step by step and by the time I got to step 2, I found myself backtracking some on step 1 due to the bolt alignment with a piece in the second step that gets put together and tightened in step 1. Again I got my cabinet assembled in no less than an hour and a half taking my time with it so its not like its impossible to do. Just more clarity would be better.Structural Integrity: I am on the fence post about this right now. Possibly in the future i'll lean more towards one side but for now I think it depends on the application you are going to use it for. This is more of a "networking" cabinet then a commercial grade server cabinet. It IS a bit flimsy, without a doubt, not going to sugar coat it. However it is able to meet the requirements that I have set so I'm not completely disappointed in it. I also think with a little DIY structural support It will have the capability to be stronger overall. (Possibly some brackets across corners of some sort. If I do this in the future I'll throw a picture of my solution. )Fans: This one is a given, yes the fans are loud. If that's honestly a deal breaker for you though, you shouldn't be looking at getting a server cabinet. Fans are easily swappable and while you might say you don't want to buy anything you have to put extra effort into, I invite you to spend the extra $300-500 it'll cost to get something ready to go and silent. My advice, don't sweat the fans, get some cheap quiet ones and swap them out, easily done. I haven't replaced mine yet but I'm guessing they are 140mm fans. I'll confirm this after I switch mine out.Price: So like in most of this review I keep coming back to the price tag that goes with this cabinet. I shopped around to multiple vendors, multiple sizes, and multiple suppliers (sorry amazon). This one was the one that stayed within my budget that I was looking to spend. It is one of those cases you get what you pay for. This cabinet may not be as sturdy or as quiet as others but this cabinet doesn't cost an arm and a leg for what it is. For what I payed, I can deal with it.Overall: I don't have much to say just yet, I did install a 24 port switch a rack mount power strip and a standard 2U rackmount shelf to hold most of my devices inside a nice secured cabinet. (Note that secured doesn't mean using the "locks" and keys it comes with to prevent entry) Overall I am happy with the cabinet at this point. Its a little flimsy but it works, its not going to fall apart just has a little sway and it was affordable. A little DIY here and there and this will last as long a while.Hope you enjoy this review, I will be making updates and additions at later dates to update the progress. Till next time!
