So Far, So GREAT

This review is based on the Scoop as a type of Physical Therapy device as opposed to the possibilities it possess as an actual workout.A little over 6 years ago I tripped. I did not fall but somehow managed to just throw myself out of whack and have had near constant pain from my lower back to my toes and symptoms of a myriad of possible problems:Sacroiliac joint dysfunctionPiriformis SyndromeIT Band ProblemsShin SplintsPlantar FasciitisTight PsoasTFL muscle tightness (tensor fascia latae)Obviously something was out of whack and the other parts of my body trying to compensate also became damaged. In the course of the 6+ years that have followed I have purchased a myriad of products to alleviate my pain. No previous purchase has given me more hope for an end to my pain than The Scoop (and a lot of reviews on their site echo that). On top of the ever present pain over the last year I have developed an awful stiffness because I sit so much because of my constant pain. Getting out of chair became a painful chore: my painful knees, the unbearable stiffness that would cause me to limp.I'm not looking to get my heart rate going or get any kind of aerobic benefit from this device, I'm looking to not essentially be disabled and move like someone 30 years my senior and as as the title of my review states: "So Far, So Great"I think my hips and glutes contributed to the bulk of my issues and darned if using this machine has not helped immensely in only a few days. I have not sat and used it for the 20+ minutes recommended I have just it frequently (5-6x) for a few minutes over the course of these past few days and the difference is already startling.Knee pain upon standing reduced 80%Stiffness reduced about the same.Hip + IT Band pain almost completely gone.If the results I've seen so far can be maintained this will be the best $180 I ever spent.UPDATE: 1+ month in.Still enjoying my Scoop - use it about 12 minutes 2x a day. Pleasantly surprised by the firming occurring in my legs. For those complaining the item is scooting away from them - the pedals are there to guide you, you shouldn't really be putting a lot of heavy pressure on them. You really are just making lateral circles with your legs. Don't give up: I was a little too herky jerky with it when I initially tried it.

Takes Practice

I think this will help and is a relatively compact piece of exercise equipment. However, it needs a handle! I do not have the space to leave it set up permanently, I need to store it away. The only solid place to grasp it is the heavy stabilizer bars on the bottom. This makes it very awkward to move and could be challenging for some people. I hope the manufacturers include a sturdy handle to move it around for future versions.

Good

This has a little more assembly than i would like. I think one flaw is the pedals should be placed farther back on the floor support. Especially since it leans forward over the floor support in the front. My reason for saying this is I have this under my desk pushed all the way back in the corner but the pedal part is in the middle of the desk so I actually have to scoot my chair back away from my desk so my legs are extended long enough to not hit my knees under the desk.USE: it is very simple to use. If the machine is pushing away from you, youre doing it wrong. you shouldnt be pushing with your legs. imagen sitting with your foot elevated and making circles with your foot, this is to help you with the movement. My first con is Id like to know the measurement for calories burned. I did around 6k steps on this and it said I burned 900+ calories. But theres 2k steps in a mile and you only burn around 100 calories and thats with your full body weight. So this stepper should be more like 300 calories or less for 6k steps especially since you aren't supporting your full weight. I got this for use at work because by the time i get to the gym I only want to workout for an hour so its like 1 mile on the treadmill and 30mins light lifting I felt it was a waste. But now I can do 5k steps while I am at work and dont feel like my workouts are for nothing. it doesnt burn as much as regular walking because your legs arent supporting your whole body, but light movement is better than no movement.

Great exercise tool!

The media could not be loaded. This is a nice addition for your exercise routine. It was a great value at 99.99. It had been 250-300 previously. It’s very easy to use. Follow the assembly directions and you will be ‘scooping’ in no time!

HEAVY AND SCREW HOLES ARE OFF

Very heavy and hard to put together. Screw holes are off and can't be matched up. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!!

Broke In First Three Minutes (Updated)

Wife put this together Christmas evening. After about three minutes of normal use the pedals broke - pedals are always supposed to be 180 degrees apart. Whatever connects them inside the body of the machine broke. Very disappointing to have something break so quickly. How am I supposed to return something this big, will take a lot of effort to repackage. Even more embarrassing is this was a gift. Too early to tell if refund/replacement process will be difficult. Will contact retailer for replacement and update.Update (1/5/2021):We received the new machine several days ago, Amazon immediately sent out a new one without me having to send mine back. The new unit works better. My wife has used it a couple of times, and I used it once myself. It stays in place on the floor well, I had it on an area rug. My legs definitely were sore the next morning after over 30 minutes of continuous use.I think me receiving one that broke was more bad luck than anything, I hope, and things do happen. I am happy we got a replacement so quickly, but unhappy that I still have to tow this boat anchor back to the UPS store. The resistance setting wheel turns, but it doesn't really do much that I can feel. I feel like it's kind of gimmicky for most people, and that's not a bad thing, I knew it when I bought it, its not the manufacturer's fault, and not a flaw.If you have 200 dollars to spend, and you don't really care about it, this probably isn't a bad purchase. I wouldn't have returned it if it wasn't broken.I am adjusting my review from 1 to 3 stars.
