Easy to Clean
Downside as compared to my old one, it doesn't beep when it thinks your waffles are done. This is not that big of a negative. I think my old one just beeped when it regained temperature. this one, the light goes on when it's reaches temp BUT as with both, the waffles are done when the waffles are done.Highlight 1, the lids lock down. You push in a tab to hold the lids together when you flip to the other side and they STAY together till you unlock them. There was some spreadage and some leaking with thinner batters on the old one.Highlight 2. When you're done and the iron is cool, the drip pan and the waffle grids come off and can go right in the dishwasher to get cleaned. I know the old one was clean, I know because I did all the tedious work with a toothbrush to GET it clean. Now, it's automatic. Just don't use steam or high temp clean/dry. Wash em, take em out and let them air dry. SO NICE.More expensive then the other irons I saw on the market but makes a bigger waffle and can be cleaned. Sure, spend a little more. My last one lasted 15 years. Hardly cost anything at that rate.

It's a nice and easy to use item! It makes me think of being in Brussells! It makes a very decent waffle and it is easy to use without the need to buy a more expensive unit! Excellent value for money spent.

Wanted to Love this
I would return this if I could but its past the return date. I purchased this to replace my basic waffle maker that has served me well until it stopped working after years of great service. I loved the idea of the double waffle maker as well as the removable plates. It looks great but is very heavy and Awkard. I have used this no more than 6 times and today I decided I was done! I have battled with waffles that stick and are difficult to get out, I have added oil to the mix, oiled the plates to no avail. I have had the plates get stuck and are nearly impossible to open. The waffles always appear too well done not quite burnt but close. It takes forever to get hot and cook the actual waffles. Today I decided this was my last try with this waffle maker. I made the batter thinner, added a little extra oil to the batter as well as spraying the plates. Once the first 2 were done I was anxious to see how they faired, unfortunately both waffles stuck so badly that I struggled to remove them from the maker. I unplugged the unit and removed the stuck waffles in basically in crumbles which was very time consuming needless to say. Even after this attempt I decided to try one more round before giving up. tFor the next batch I added a little more water and actually brushed the plates with a bit of oil on each side, poured the exact amount without overflow and low and behold it worked, still had to struggle a bit to get them out, they came out in 2 pieces or 4 pieces , never a full waffle. They were a little browner than I like. I regreased the plates for the next several batches, I believe I made about 10 batches. Same struggles with the remaining but added steps seemed to do the trick sort of. On my last batch I had enough batter for one last waffle and proceeded to make it, when the waffle was done, I opened the lid and plate fell onto the floor with the waffle in. Thank the Lord my grandchildren were not here yet as that could have landed on them or even on me causing a severe injury. I grabbed a dishtowel and got it off the floor as quickly as possible before it damaged my vinyl plank floor.I have no clue why that happened, but I will not be using the waffle maker again, between the constant challenges and unpredictable outcomes it simply is not worth the anxiety or stress this has inflicted on me.
