Best Ah So Two Pronged Wine Opener Ever
We purchased a great 2016 Portuguese wine case and found all the bottles corks were very dry. After breaking a Winged Cork Screw opener, and having our electric cork screw opener chew up the corks, we looked online and found a solution - the 2 pronged wine opener. We've had these in the past that we purchased from well known wineries. All of them had plastic tops and would bend. This Primoxe 2 pronged is the best I've ever seen. 100% stainless steel and it extracts the very dry corks with ease. We are so happy and will keep and use it for all our wine. No cork pieces in the wine, very sturdy, comes with a stainless steel case - what else could you ask for. If you've used this type of wine opener from a winery and were not happy, try this one. You will be very surprised at the quality, and at a lower cost than at the wineries. We highly recommend this product.

I am pleasantly surprised.
This product was sent to me by the company to review honestly and objectively. When I first opened the package i was a little intimidated, so I asked my husband to try it first. He said it wouldn't work, so I waited and tried it myself. The first time I used the wine opener, it performed as advertised! The cork came out undamaged, and the bottle opened in a matter of seconds. Why am I pleasantly surprised? Most wine bottle openers require more strength than I have. Traditional corkscrews are too hard for me to open the bottle, so I actually bought an electric wine opener. If only I had known about the As So Wine Opener sooner, I would have led with that! The best part is the undamaged cork: you can re cork the bottle and the wine stays fresh. The wine opener is heavy compared to what it looks like, as it was made with durable metal. It even comes in a little case. The only downside I see is the simple directions given. There is a short 3-step instruction guide on the back of the case, which some people might not follow. While I could follow it easily, my husband couldn't figure it out.

Very interesting and unique device, TSA compliant, and fun to use
Tried the opener on a few bottles. Took it on a few trips. The following is a conclusion on whether or not one should buy this or any other similar product like this.1. Travel. It's really, really, really nice to know this opener is TSA compliant. I took it through checkpoint on hand carried backpack. The rule is that the opener cannot have a blade. Most corkscrew setup has a blade to cut the foil and that makes it noncompliant for TSA carry on. Checked bag is OK but not carried on. Anyway, this device does not have a blade. The two prongs are not considered blade although some TSA looked at it for a minute but then decided it is not a blade. So, yes, it was carry on compliant. That is very good for traveling.2. But because there is no blade, you will need another method to remove the foil. I ended up having to use a dinner fork to pick open the foil to expose the cork before this device could be used. So.... it's a conundrum. I was able to bring this on carry on but I needed another gadget to cut the foil.3. Function. Yes, it does work! It will require some strength tho. The inserting part took the most work. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle...shove, wiggle..shove...wiggle. Took a while but finally after fully inserted then you can twist ie turn turn turn while pulling on the handle. That removes the cork intact.4. But...is it superior to standard corkscrew?? Well, yes and no. The No part is that it isn't any less effort exerting and not as easy as it seemed. However, the Yes part is that it almost guarantees success each time. And the fact that the corkscrew can be tricky and can break the cork into crumbs...happened to me and to lots of people. So, Yes, it is superior to use this device than a corkscrew but be advised that it isn't like inserting hot knife into butter. There is still work involved.5. Reinsert cork. Now that is something you cannot do with a corkscrew. Reversing the removal instruction you can truly reinsert the cork. But that said, I have not once needed to. I usually just half cork the half bottle....doesn't everybody?? It's not like I am going to store a half drunk bottle for a few more years to age? Right? I don't see the purpose of actually opening a bottle and recork the bottle fully....there is no purpose. Once opened, oxygen enters into the bottle..it needs to be consumed with prejudice. There's no saving the bottle. So half corking works just fine. One needs to drink the whole thing within a few days anyway. So, yes, it can insert a cork whole..possible, true, but no practical reason to. So it's a brilliant feature with no applicable practicality. Oh well.Lastly, the puller handle doubles as a cap opener. This is for all you beer drinkers. The cap opener easily pops off a cap. There's not a lot to be said here. No, there's not a recapping feature on this device. Apparently cork can be reinserted but a cap cannot be re-crimpped on to a bottle.Other aspects: relatively light weight. Metal prongs is still functional after 10+ bottles.. still TSA compliant.. Novelty value is a plus. Your friends will go Oooooooohhhh amazingly when seeing it work the first time.Alright there you have it! Hope you gained some points to consider before deciding on buying one or not. Best of luck!!

Fantastic 2 prong wine opener. And everyone should use this kind of opener, they're the best
I've been looking for a nice 2 prong wine opener for ages. Ever since my friend taught me how to use one of them, I've been absolutely hooked. I really prefer it over a traditional corkscrew. Less chance of cork bits in your wine. So, once you've decided on a two prong opener, then you have to decide which one. This one feels really sturdy and comfortable to use. It also comes in a very nice metal box with a window in the cover. It's packaged very beautifully, so it would actually be a great choice to give as a gift. I bought this one to use personally, but I'll be keeping it in mind as a possible gift in the future. Really highly recommend this product. Pretty pleased with it.

Nice Opener - Save your bottle from disaster! :)
Nice opener!…and handy for when someone I know, who will remain unnamed, damages the cork trying to use a corkscrew. This saves the day!

DON'T, do NOT! Absolutely worst wine opener ever!
I have a large cork screw that I've had for years. I really liked the idea of this smaller opener. Thought it would be great for travel or to grab quickly. I've used this style of opener before so I felt confident ordering it. Well, it looked fine out of the box, but the very first time I tried to use it the prongs just twisted and bent. I worked for about 15 minutes trying to get this flimsy thing to work. The prongs wouldn't go all the way down the sides of the cork. They gouged the cork, they bent and twisted when I tried to twist out the cork. I finally gave up and got my big corkscrew and took 15 seconds to open the bottle. UGH.
