This works like a dream. We live in the woods and constantly have mosquitos, even on warmer days in the winter. We do keep ours inside until we are ready to use it, but that is only because we don't have a permanent place to hang it yet. When we use it, we turn it on just a little before we plan on being outside, and it starts working right away. We sometimes sit it on a table away from where we are, and when we get it to take it in, there is always a huge pile of dead bugs, mostly mosquitos. It is supper gross but also quite impressive. I have wanted a bug zapper for years because an Uncle of mine had one and it seemed to work, but I would hear people say things about the weird old people with bug zappers. I didn't want that being said about me. Now at 48, I don't care what people think about it. My family isn't getting chewed up by mosquitos and I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago. This works so well that I have suggested it to a hand full of people I know who also have a mad mosquito problem.

It is definitely working. It’s working so much that my neighbor heard it zipping bugs. He ask me where I purchased it from. I told him Amazon. The only thing is I wish that it had a bucket to store the dead bugs and a hatch that opens from the bottom to dump the dead bugs instead of them falling to the ground. It would make cleanup easier.

I am shocked this thing is packed with bugs everyday it catches a million bugs. My daughter loves to watch me clean the bugs everyday. I only wish I had gotten the commercial one since I live on a lake we have a lot of bugs. So check out the various products this seller offers.

Brighter than I expected, however destroys flying insects, as advertised. In the past I have used blacklight bulbs (UV). There doesn’t appear to be replacement blacklight bulbs available for this bug-light! For that reason I only gave this item 4-stars.

You'll definitely still have to clean it, but it is super effective. Cleaning is easy. Just use compressed air or a leaf blower. If you have a ton of bugs around like we do, it gets clogged up with them and seems a little less effective. But from the photo, you can see it is definitely super effective.

The media could not be loaded. WOW!! I ran across this product on a blog which compared outside bug zappers and their effectiveness - this one was ranked number 1. We live close to a lot of pine trees and have a lot of mosquitoes in our back yard and finding something effective has been hard. We received our Flowtron unit on 4/30 and left it running over night. The picture is how much activity it had after just one night. The zapping sound is noticeable but it is not too loud. Easily drowned out by a TV or a fan at night. We’ve only had the unit for a day but so far we are satisfied. Interested to see the difference after a few nights of use. I will say to follow the instructions and place the unit a good distance from the porch if you plan to sit out there while it’s running. We do not have a large backyard so we hung it near the porch. Once the sun went down there was a swarm of bugs around the unit.

I had one years ago. It was so good. I had to get another one.
