Fresh Thai basil - 16 oz (approx 30 stalks)

The quality is excellent, so fresh. Everything arrived packaged securely for fragile/perishable shipment. 2 separate bags with leaves inside a reinforced priority mail envelope. From the time it was ordered (Friday) I had it in my hands within 5 days (Wednesday), shipped Monday with 2 day shipping all across the country.One bag is still in the fridge, the other bag was dealt with immediately. I've found the best way for me to preserve a large order of Thai basil leaves is to remove them quickly from the stalks and store them in a tight glass container in the freezer. I do the same with fresh kaffir lime leaves. Whenever I need leaves for cooking, I simply peel a couple out of the container straight into the pan. So yummy! The empty stalks of the first bag I placed in water. Fingers crossed.

I was skeptical, ordering from California and shipping to MAINE, as to whether this would arrive on any decent condition. I also couldn't really picture the amount since I normally just buy a bundle at an Asian market. However, again, currently in Maine and 2.5 hours from one plus working nights, so I gambled $16.Y'all.In Fort Smith, AR, at my local Asian markets, I'll pay $2.99 for a very small bundle (enough to make one family sized dish), unless it's on sale then maybe $1.This was two large bags, each containing about 3 bundles' worth, so about 6 bundles and roughly $18 worth of FRESH, lovely, aromatic Thai Basil. I gave one bundle to my neighbor! I will absolutely be ordering again. What a fabulous service.

I received two packages of thai basil, tightly sealed with the air removed. There was a lot of product in each package (see photos). The basil was green and fresh. It did seem to take awhile to get the shipment, but I didn't keep track of how long, just seemed longer than I normally wait. I paid $14 + shipping and that is totally worth it for me, as I made about 20 servings. Much cheaper than buying thai dishes at restaurant!

ABSOLUTELY NO CARE WAS GIVEN TO THE FACT THAT THIS IS WINTER.They where all shoved into a 2 ziplock gallon bags then stuffed into a usps cardboard envelope in DECEMBER!!!!!They entire shipment was FROZEN and a total waste of my money. I should have listened to others that said the same things about the lack of care in shipping!! It took 11 days to get to me. I ordered with plenty of time to make the gifts that I was making for my adult children. (it is a quick easy gift, just requires fresh basil).I wish I had thought to take photos, but others have - mine arrived just like those. The ones that got nice packaging got lucky.BUYER beware!!!

I have never ordered fresh produce from Amazon, so I was amazed at the quality of this Thai basil. The only fresh Thai basil around here is in a store 50 miles away and is packaged in small plastic clam shell boxes. Pathetic, but if it's all you can get . . . Last time I trekked out to to that store, there was no Thai basil. Rats. Went home, shrugged my shoulders, and tried Amazon. After all, Amazon has everything else in the world. Gee, there it was, fresh Thai basil. I didn't pay much attention to the description, so I ordered two. In no time at all, I received--yup--TWO POUNDS of fresh Thai basil. However, I am impressed with the wonderful quality both in looks and taste, and I'm not sorry I have so much now. Did share with friends, but am using the fresh basil in cooking and in salads and will be freezing the rest. Now that I know where to buy fresh Thai basil any time, I'll never trek 50 miles to buy inferior basil again! Thank you Amazon and TastePadThai for a great product and great service.

This arrived looking just-picked. I put some of it into a vase, on the deck and soon bees were buzzing in the flowers. Remarkable. Tasty, too : - )
