Q: can we turn off the light

Even though many people have said you can't, they may have not read the instructions. In the description, it says the lighting mode can be turned off by pressing the two side buttons and the CPI button simultaneously. Do this again to turn the lighting back on. I have this mouse, and this does work.

It auto changes color consistently. Not one solid color.

sorry for the late response andrew; to answer your question this mouse in particular has never overheated on me and on a side note it works wonderfully I got mine back in march and still have no complaints and on another side note the mouse randomly changes colors and I would definitely reccomend you get this mouse I'm a hardcore PC gamer I play league of legends, CSGO, and COD BO3 and this mouse is amazing for the price. you can also program the 2 side buttons which will appear in game as Mouse 4 and Mouse 5. I give it 5/5 the latency is amazing it performs very well and is comfortable
