西海岸中心に流行している「リーンスタートアップ」を具体的に実践するために必要なコツを詰め込んだ本。やたら大部だし、冗長なくだりも多いんですが、起業をしようとする人は必読。製品やサービスをつくることばかりに血道をあげて時間とお金を使った結果、「完成度が高い不要品」をつくっちゃった、という悲劇を繰り返さないために親切すぎる（？）指導が入っている。日本語版は翔泳社から「スタートアップ・マニュアル」として出版されており、日英版ともにKindleでも入手可能。
