Endlessly customisation, effortless installation & setup.
So, while some have stated that the software is a little tricky to get setup, I can't say I found it all that hard. Fiddly if you wish, but certainly not difficult. The buttons have a fairly tactile feel and while there is a very occasional lag between pressing a button and the function occurring, it's very infrequent and often performs nigh on instantaneously.I've configured many more "scenes" than I've included as examples with this review, from Photoshop to Media playback, Windows shortcuts to Assetto Corsa Dashboard, Smart lighting controls (LiFX & Hue) to HWiNFO64 performance monitor, the possibilities are nigh on endless. You can set virtually any function you could dream of from toggle switches to hot keys. The number of plugins available is fairly vast and includes anything you could possibly need for streaming or increasing productivity.Highly recommend downloading version 3.10 (for the stream dock 293s, a clone by mirabox) as this provides much better functionality and even a few tutorials and guides built in, than the version 2.10 that came with it from soomfon which seemed to be lacking, comparatively.Certainly not quite as simple to setup as an elgato, but for a third of the price at the time of purchase, this is excellent value for money and is surprisingly well made/heavy.Building your own plugins can also be done for the more savvy users, and is honestly far less complicated than you might think. The number of custom icon sets and plugins was honestly quite surprising and you can even make your own icons if you so wish, or modify existing ones with Adobe Illustrator/photoshop.Really cannot fault it. Great little device, tempted to get the larger one with several dials/knobs too, given they can be ran alongside one another without problems.Save yourself a chunk of cash by getting this instead of an elgato and spend the savings on more games instead! 😎👍🏼

Great for gadget lovers
Bought as a gift for husband, he finds it really useful. Mostly easy set up and use. Excellent value for money compared to other places I've seen it for sale.

Stay clear
Spent over 6 hours trying to get the device to work (6 hrs of my life wasted) the instructions are lacking (on information on setting up)looked on YouTube for help no instructions. its a total waste of desk space. doesn’t work on any of the following:OBS Ink-scape or Smealy. YES you can get the buttons to show the icons and that’s it.If you have days to kill then this is for you, otherwise stay clear. its going back.

For a Windows host it is Ok, but do not buy it for MacOS!!
The only reason why I am not returning this device is because I also have a Windows PC, although originally I wanted to use it with my Mac. After installation I had to realise that there are no preconfigured scenes available in the software for Mac (you plug it in your Mac and you can't populate your buttons with pre-configured functions). This would not be a problem if there were enough icons available, but I could hardly find ones that I could make use of. I was expecting it to have some sort of vscode integration - as it is advertised with the vs logo - but no, not for Mac. On Windows it only provides you with 4 such scenes, but there are plenty of plugins available too, so on Windows it is comparable to the Elgato decks. For Mac, only a fraction of the plugins are available.Build quality is ok-ish, except for some white discolouration of the LCD panel under a pressed-down button. You can see the same effect as if you were pushing your finger onto a regular LCD screen, there is no hard protective layer in front of the display, the button presses into the display directly. I'm not sure how this will affect its longevity.Workaround to control Visual Studio Code on MacOS: Install the "Remote Control" extension in vscode for Mac, which will let you send commands to vscode via web sockets. Then install the "Web Requests" plugin for your Stream Controller software. Assuming that you have configured port 3710 for web socket access, you need to give these parameters to your button:URL: "ws://127.0.0.1:3710"Message: { "command": "cmake.build", "args": [""] }Replace "cmake.build" with whatever other command you might want to send, and provide arguments to the command if needed.

Great Addition To Stream Setup
Bought this to help with being a new YouTube streamer, doing lives and being able to map hotkeys through streamlabs has made it so much easier.Nice little box and cable supplied was perfect length for my setup.Software is easy to use and has good amount of customisation but would benefit if able to incorportate some more programs but that maybe something coming in furture

Good value, but definitely not plug and play
Using this now for a few weeks and it’s doing what I need it to. Feels solid and the buttons are satisfying to press, not mushy. Customising each key with my own icons was fun and makes it feel personal.Set up was a bit of a pain though. Software isn’t the most user-friendly — took me a bit to figure out how to get it working properly. Not impossible, just not super clear. Once it’s set, it runs fine.I’ve been using it for app shortcuts, controlling music, switching outputs — that kind of thing. Not doing much streaming but it still saves time. If you’re used to gear like this or don’t mind digging into settings, it’s a solid alternative to the expensive ones. Not perfect, but I’d buy it again. Might even upgrade to the bigger version down the line.
