Fun
Good tool comes with loads of different tips that can be easily swapped about (screw in and out). Has a dial to control the temperature which is clear and easy to use. Wire isn't very long but OK with an extention cord. Pen is comfy to hold however it does heat up so if using for a while you have to slowly hold higher up or turn off to allow to cool. Would recommend for beginners easy to use and a lot of fun.

Great quality for the price
Good selection of tips and heats up fairly quickly. Would be great in the hands of an artist, but even makes a mortal like me’s work look OK

great tool
So many different heads brilliant starter tool but when hot and using for a while the head becomes very wobbly and your unable to tighten as its so hot, I would recommend also purchasing some heat proof gloves as it kicks off a lot of heat after a while can burn the tips of your fingers with the heat, this burner has made me fall in love with polygraphy!

wood burner pyrography pen
a fantastic bit of kit have used a fair few times now for hours at a time. many interchangeable heads for many designs (easy to find replacements) adjustable heat. only downfall does not have a carry case but if you can live without that. A good buy

Not that user friendly, getting used to it now.
Have tried a number of the different tips with little success, takes an age to get to temperature and then after about 4 inches it's cold right down and you have to wait all over again. Will sit down and give it one more try during the next weekend of bad weather if no joy will have to find another winter hobby. Update after continued use. Have kept going with it through the winter. Still have trouble with some harder woods but getting there. Recommend using softwood or ply from a craft shop to start. Temperature control is the key.

Too hot to handle
If you have any quantity of pyrography to complete this may not be for you.Why not? Because it gets very hot as you hold it; the tip is rather a long way from the holding position and the tip wobbles in its holder; whilst it is usable; it is difficult to have the accuracy you may require for writing for example. Once it has reached writing temperature you may have only fifteen minutes or so to complete your task before it gets too hot handle.

Pyrography pen set
Ordered through Amazon. I am new to this but found it easy to use though some of the attachments bent when pressing on but could be pressed back whilst hot. There wasn’t much in the way of instructions and lots of heads.it took a long time for the attachments to cool enough to be changed but am guessing that is the same with all brands.

Definitely use a heatproof glove
I would suggest that this isn't an item for beginners, but that being said, with no experience, I managed to do what I wanted to do with it. The handle gets super hot quite quickly and so unless you've got a heatproof glove, you're going to end up with burns. The tips can be quite fiddly to remove - definitely allow them to cool fully before you do this. There are not any instructions as to how to assemble it but it's fairly self explanatory and with a bit of test and prove I managed to figure out which tip would work best for what I wanted
