According to the NHS, taking 0.5mg (500μg) or less per day of iodine supplements is unlikely to cause any harm, but you should take care not to overdose on Iodine as long periods of high dosage can change how your thyroid works, leading to unwanted weight gain and issues with hormone production. This product provides 333% of the nutrient reference value (NRV) per two tablets (the stated dosage on the pack) so you’ll need to pay attention to how much Iodine rich foods you ingest too, such as fish, eggs and cows milk.The tablets are supplied in a factory sealed ziplock pouch and are in a small, easy to swallow rounded format. The dose is 2 tablets per day so don’t be tempted to take more than this unless specifically instructed to by a medical professional. You get a half year supply of the recommended dosage for £10 which is very reasonable.If you are vegan or otherwise lack Iodine-rich foods in your diet, or have been advised by your doctor that you would benefit from Iodine supplementation, these are a good value for 6 months supply. Obviously I can’t speak too much about the quality of the ingredients as I don’t have access for laboratory testing.
