I needed a video camera for monitoring my front porch and street. After reading the product description I felt this camera would be a great choice for my needs.The box includes instructions, the video camera and power cord a little over 9’ long. Unfortunately the instructions supported 3 different cameras but not this particular model.The instructions do provide a QR code to download the app that works with the camera. This is a free software. I did have a little trouble getting the app to connect to the camera, but that was because I have two WiFi networks and the camera and my phone were not connecting to the same one. In the instructions it says to look for a light but there was no light on this model. After connecting the software the instructions go on to talk about other models.The app is pretty easy to navigate. After connecting the camera, it starts doing its thing. It rotates almost 360 degrees giving you the widest range of view. It tilts up and down as well. When using the app you can also manually control the direction of the camera. When you set up for alerts, you get a message on your phone letting you know the camera detected someone moving. You can customize your settings as well to suit your needs.There are additional features that I don’t need but will be very useful, like the ability to add more cameras, the customization of range of view and where the camera records.There are also many options for customizing alerts and what the camera detects. One thing I noted about detection is that the camera can’t pick up motions on different sides at the same time. If you have movement on the right side of view, it won’t pick up movement on the left side. After recording movement the camera does pan back to the other side. There are other features too numerous to describe.It gives you the ability to use or not use siren/warning option. There is also a white light warning that will flash when motion is detected.For recording, you can you an SD card that you provide or pay a fee to upload the cloud. The SD card slot is at the bottom of the camera so you have easy access without having to take the camera down.The picture quality is excellent. On your phone you can view either portrait or landscape orientation. You can zoom into your view but the quality is not as good.Overall I think this is a great camera to use for home security and I would recommend to anyone.

We ended up liking these cameras. Easy to set up and this has 10xZoom . The camera are amazing. Going to change all our existing cameras for all these. This camera is easy to setup and tha 10x zoom is radical.We just purchased 3 more of these during prime daysDefinitely a great value for you money

Update 8/20/24After using this camera for about a month now, I have discovered a couple of issues and am reducing to 3 stars. First, for whatever reason, the "cruise" mode stops working after a short period of time. It seems that when it detects motion, it follows the motion (which is good) but, after the event, it goes back to position 1 of the cruise mode and stays there. That really defeats the purpose of a PTZ style security camera. I also find the motion detection lacking. It seems to pick up swaying tree branches fine, but often misses things like animals (which I set it to detect) and sometimes cars. I have rebooted, ensured it has the latest firmware, and calibrated it multiple times. I work in security for a living and understand how this should work. It doesn't deliver. With that said, it still has a good picture and zoom and the micro SD recording options is much appreciated.This was ordered to replace a doorbell camera that no longer works. I wanted something a little more versatile that could look around further into my yard.Upon unpacking I found everything I would need to get started except an SD card. The location I mounted is just above my door so I had to penetrate the exterior siding and sheathing to get into the house. With a little know how this wasn't too bad. I ran the cord to an outlet inside the house using some cable hider as my electrical service panel is on that wall and I didn't want to try to drop the wire through that wall.Just before I mounted the camera, I went through the camera set-up including downloading the manufacturers app on my phone. This process was easy and straight forward.After mounting the camera I set up what the camera calls a "cruise" mode which moves the camera as it detects what I have told it to look for and follows that around. It will even draw a box around the item, in my case people. You are able to set-up a warning light that is very visible on the front of the camera and/or an audible alarm. Finally this has the ability to hear and record sound as well as the video.The camera itself has a very good picture. The optical zoom allows someone to zoom in close without the distortion that can happen with a fixed lens and digital zoom. The picture is very clear and sharp. Colors are excellent. Unfortunately, the lag that happens between sending a command such as to move the camera is quite high. I have a very modern WiFi 6 router and good signal to the device, however it just takes a while. I can live with that as long is this records video well and monitors our door and yard. I also like that I don't have to subscribe to a monthly service in order to record locally and still get alerts on my phone. The alerts have reached me very quickly and are mostly accurate. You may need to adjust the sensitivity so that you don't get bombarded with alerts.Overall, the is an inexpensive way to get good video and protect the perimeter of your home. This is now the third I have added to my home, trying different brands and feature. I am very happy I bought this camera.
