Great Innovation
I confess, I’d never heard of a shacket – didn’t know such a thing existed but I’m now just amazed at the utility of this half shirt, half jacket. I'm using it for cool weather wear and like the look. It is very well made of a heavy weight cotton. The fabric is surprisingly soft and comfortable. It’s not for hot weather wear but ideal for those cool lakeside evenings. It is surprisingly versatile and it works as a shirt in cooler weather and as a light weight jacket for those times when it’s chilly. I found I really liked the ease of maintenance – I tossed the shacket into the washer, then ran it through the dryer and it came out without wrinkles or shrinkage. I wore it almost every day on a recent trip to Alaska – the weather was cool and rainy and this fit the bill perfectly. I wore it over a long sleeve T-shirt which gave me a style I like. I normally wear a medium (5’9”, 150 lbs) and the medium fits me perfectly. Highly recommended – I’m going to get more in other colors for the fall and winter in the lower 48.

Heavier than expected, well-made, not a good fit for taller folks
I predict that ten, twenty years from now this sturdy shirt will be one of my well-worn yet still-serviceable casual favorites.Straight out of the packaging, the first thing that I noticed about this shirt is its weight. I ordered size Large, and this shirt weighs over one pound — about 20 ounces. This fabric feels like a light, supple canvas. During cooler months of the year it could be layered over a t-shirt and serve to some extent as a windbreaker. For me it is too heavy for temps over 75, but it’s fine for temps in the 60’s.I’m very pleased with the shirt’s color. I ordered it in “wine red,” and the color is rich, deep, and true to what I see on its Amazon page. I can’t speak to how well this color will age, but right out of the box it is gorgeous. The only negative criticism I have is it doesn’t fit well, though to be honest, I did not expect it to fit my frame perfectly. I’m 6’4” but slender, so I wear a size Large. The XL would fit me around the chest and middle like a bathrobe. This size L is fine in the body, but, when I extend my arm as in the photo I’ve attached here, the shirt’s cuff rides half-way up my forearm. In addition to relatively short sleeves, the shirt isn’t quite long enough in the body to stay neatly tucked in to pants, but it is cut such that it looks good untucked. With the cuffs rolled up and the shirt worn untucked, it’s a keeper for kicking around home or over a t-shirt for a hike. If the manufacturer will someday make sizes to fit tall folks, I'll certainly buy another.

Very solid all cotton shirt. Seems well made.
Full Disclosure: I received this product at no cost for evaluation through Amazon Vine program. This is a well made, very solid 100% cotton shirt. It is not light weight, so it is not a great hot weather shirt, but for winter or cool days, it would be great. It comes with an extra button, which is handy.I am pretty much a medium in every shirt or coat I buy, but with extra long arms. I normally wear a 15 1/2 x 34 shirt. This shirt fits well, and it even has sleeves which are long enough. I do not know how much it will shrink though. My intent is to use this shirt as a winter work shirt because it is solid enough to be protective and endure tough use.

This clothing line brand is growing on me, nice shirt
I don't really consider this a shacket as it's not as thick as you normally see. But that isn't at all to say it is lightweight. It is quite heavy, almost like a heavier denim shirt material. The XL was perfect for me at 220 lbs 6 ft. 1. It fits nicely and actually is somewhat slimming when worn as a button down shirt. You can obviously also wear it more casually unbuttoned, with a t-shirt underneath, but I think it looks great as a shirt. It isn't soft material but does seem like it is durable and will last many washes and seasons. This is the second Coofandy shirt I've gotten and really like the level of quality for this price point.

Heavy and stiff, but comfy with nice fit
Heavy cotton button up shirt meant to be used as a layering element. For a jacket it would be considered 'lightweight', but it's much heavier than your average cotton dress shirt. Similar in weight to a flannel shirt, but material is much stiffer and coarse. Almost like a light canvas. Perfectly comfortable so long as it's layered over a softer shirt.Fits true to size, maybe a little big because it's meant to be worn over other clothes. Lots of room in the shoulders, and the stiff material can make the shoulders come to a point or look like you're wearing shoulder pads. Traditional fit with ample room in the belly. But for the price it's a good layering shirt, and the wine red color I ordered is quite attractive.

Larger Sized, But Is An Overshirt
My husband is between a size L and a size XL, so we got a size L. It looks quite big for a L and fits more like an XL; however, it is described as an overshirt and is 100% cotton (so it might shrink a tad over time). I could see this being over a turtleneck and still being comfortable. It is quite thick, so definitely a stay-dry-in-the-cool/cold-weather shirt. (Being cotton, you don't want to get it wet while wearing it.) It's nice enough to be work as a work shirt, too. The color is smoky dark blue. Before he officially starts wearing it (in the fall, it's way too hot now in July), I will machine wash it on cold and either hang it dry or dry it on low.

Great, Stylish Fall Shirt/Jacket
This “shacket” (button-down shirt jacket) is another fine shirt from the Coofandy clothing line. I had never seen the term “shacket” before, but this seems to be a good example of one. It’s made of 100% high-quality cotton, designed with great detail, and sturdily constructed with reinforced stitching. It hangs well, and I believe this is because it is more mediumweight than lightweight as described. This will be a great light jacket or shirt to wear over a t-shirt and/or under a jacket. I ordered the version in dark grey (a neutral color that will blend with just about anything) and in medium, which is an exact fit for me. It comes with an extra button and arrives sealed in a nice, transparent Coofandy-labelled envelope.

Great as a casual light weight jacket.
Material is a bit stiff, but still comfortable, likely become a bit softer after some use. It is light weight, but not so light that it will not protect against evening chill or cooler winds. It is a welcome addition to my fall/winter wardrobe for layering on cooler days.
