Pleasantly surprised. I wish I had bought this sooner.
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro that I use for work. I have two monitors attached and numerous peripherals running. At times the case runs warmer than I like and the internal fan runs much of the time. I bought this fan thinking it was a passive system that absorbed heat from the case and dissipated it with cooling fins and a fan. This actually has a cooling mechanism that actively removes heat from the case. This morning I hadn't turned on the cooler initially and within a few minutes I had lowered the temperature by 25 degrees F. Typically the temperature reads 12C (54F) when running. Although, that would be localized to where the device was attached. The rest of the case is warmer than that. I should check with an infrared thermometer. What really impressed me was when I removed the cooler and let it run on my desk and the temperature dropped to 0C (32F). The two speed fan is also a nice option. On low speed the fan is barely audible, but still maintains a surface temperature in the 50s (Fahrenheit).I could do without the flashing LED's that can't be turned off, but it's on the back side so I don't notice them.I believe that using this from the time it's new could extend the life of your device if it's putting out a lot of heat. The only things I would improve would be a thermostat that turns the device on or off and varies fan speed as needed and an option to turn off the random LED's that service no useful purpose.

Keep your device temps down
I can say it works exactly as describedI use an iPad to render 3D scans. During the hot TX spring and summer the iPad can heat up pretty quickly. This actually brought down the temps of the iPad and prevented it from shutting down.I do wish it could charge from the iPad itself but it’s cheap enough to purchase a battery pack to plug into.

Muy bueno
Lo compré para mi esposo y funciona muy bien para controlar la temperatura a la hora de jugar

Works, doesn't work on the OEM Steam Deck backplate.
First half of the review, here: the cooler itself. It gets cold! I'm assuming it's a little Peltier module. It's not very loud, either. It has three settings: off, a lower one, and a higher one. The plate it comes with has a very sleek design on it.Now onto my small gripes with the device itself. The RGB lights sort of flash randomly. Sometimes they fade nicely, sometimes they just flash madly. There's no control over them, which isn't a huge deal. The three position switch also doesn't like going from low to high. Going all the way from off to high is fine, but low to high makes it turn off and restart. It does work, though! You just have to give it a sec.The device itself has magnets in it, but I can't get it to stick to any device without the plate, even things other magnets stick to. This becomes an issue because you only get one plate. Now, I did successfully manage to remove the plate from my Steam Deck, move it to different positions, and get it to stick again. So the adhesive is very nice. Just be warned that this is meant to stay on a single device in one spot. You can remove it, it didn't damage the plate or my Steam Deck, but it's not easy to do. It would be nice if more plates could be ordered. Now, about the Steam Deck. This isn't a negative for the device, this is informational for Steam Deck users. It won't cool it. It made the case cooler, but it didn't cool the CPU or GPU a single degree. The Steam Deck's OEM case simply has no thermal connection to the internals. Cooling the case helped not at all. This is what I expected, but I really wanted to try one of these guys out for myself and see. I will be installing a case that does have a thermal connection, and I will be updating this review once I do, as stated before. Now, will it cool a tablet or a laptop on a stand? I do believe it will, provided that the case does have thermal connection to the internals. Say a Macbook or an iPad? I'm pretty sure it would work. Use your best judgement for your device on that one.-----UPDATE 7/15/24------Today I received the JSAUX thermal backplate and was able to try the device with that.Together, they get the Steam Deck around 9 to 10 degrees celsius cooler. That's between 48 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit, which is pretty impressive! The cooling device itself accounted for about 3C of that. Not the best ever, but I'll take it. If you're playing a game that's more CPU/GPU heavy than Lightyear Frontier, it could be worth it to you.(I wrote cooling case on the pictures because I was distracted by a conversation, but it's just the replacement backplate from JSAUX with the aluminum panel. It's not the fan case.)

magnet too weak
The built in magnet is not strong enough to keep the fan attached to a surface device. The only solution would be to glue their sticker permanently to device.
