Question 1

The ranges for darkness are listed as 5-9 and 9-13.  How do you change these ranges? How do I know what range it is stock?

Previous answers are not correct for this model hood! Read the included manual for your particular model fully and carefully to learn the adjustments and how to set them correctly. First the 3 adjustment knobs plus two slide switches are on the outside of the helmet. To chose the darkness range, you slide a slide switch to set range, then adjust darkest setting with the darkness knob. The slide switch position is marked so it is just a matter of looking to see which range position the switch is in when you receive the hood, mine was set for the welding range. 9 - 13. The 5 - 9 range is for grinding. The delay is how long it stays dark after the arc stops. Only with certain tig welding processes is it advisable to set any delay. Otherwise you will want the lens to lighten right after the arc stops for visibility and safety. 
Hint: The hood lens will auto darken from being pointed directly at an LED light bulb and some fluorescent lights. This can be a quick way to see if the hood is working, or can be the source of the lens "randomly darkening" as you look around with the hood on, if your work area is lit by these type bulbs. This is not a defective hood or sign of needing to replace the battery, it is just the detectors reacting to certain light frequencies common to these bulbs and welding arcs. If it is annoying try shading or moving the lights so you are not looking directly at the lit bulb.

Which cheater lens can this use?  I need 3.0 bifocal magnafiers

I too wear bifocals, but I put in a standard single magnifier lens in my helmet, not a bifocal one (do they even make such?) Just to add some magnification, since I wear my prescription glasses under my hood. The Yes hood readily accepted the standard magnifier lens I had in my old hood. Be aware that the viewport on the Yes is so much larger that I can look over/through/or under the lens since it only covers about 1/3 of the viewport. I really love my Yes hood much more than the $300.00 Hobart Elite I replaced. The true color alone is worth having!

Can it fit 3m respirator with the mask on?

I have been welding since 1970 using American  made equipment and one helmet.  The helmet is thick, a sturdy head gear, large viewing
port, and comfortable for up to 14 hrs of welding a day.  The Chinese helmet I bought is smaller, cheesy, head gear is weak and flimsy, and the helmet is for a human head smaller than mine.  If you are a small person the respirator will fit  but it will not do the job of a large fan blowing the welding smoke away from your face  or a light wind blowing from your back or across your welding project.
