I managed to get this at a very good price (around £25) which was the cheapest I'd seen an 8kg weighted blanket, so thought it was worth a try, to see if it would help with my stress, anxiety and general mental health.I use this on top of a thin (3.5 tog) duvet at night. It felt very strange at first to have such a heavy weight on top of me when trying to sleep, but I got used to it very quickly. It now feels re-assuring (almost like being hugged) and I don't want to get up in the morning because it's so comfy. I don't sleep well anyway due to some health conditions, but this does seem to have improved my sleep quality a little bit. Since getting it, I've also spent a few nights sleeping elsewhere and have noticed the difference of not having it for a night or two.Comments on other blankets I've seen have people complaining about the glass beads coming out and going everywhere, loose stitching on the hems and the individual pocket stitching coming away so it ends up as one large pocket. I've not seen any of those problems with this blanket.The blanket seems to be well made, I checked as I was unpacking it and there were no loose threads or anything that I could see. The glass beads are sewn into square pockets (as per the picture) which have stayed as small individual pockets and not merged like others have said. These pockets help to keep the glass beads in place which helps the blanket mould to your body shape when it is covering you. I give it a quick shake (along with my duvet) in the morning, which helps to re-distribute the beads evenly again, so they're not all on one side of a pocket etc from the way I've been sleeping. I have grey and white bedding anyway, so it matches those and doesn't look out of place being on my bed.I know they say something about using a weighted blanket that's 10% of your weight, and whilst 8kg is not quite 10% of my weight, I don't think I'd want anything heavier.Overall, I really like this blanket and may look for another (possibly slightly lighter to make it easier to travel with) that I can take with me if I visit my parents or friends for a night. I'd definitely recommend trying a weighted blanket if you have anxiety, stress, or any other relevant mental health conditions. Just make sure you choose an appropriate weight, so you feel comfortable and not smothered. If in doubt, I'd probably say start with a lighter one (especially if you are going to use it for sleeping like I do). However, I'm not a doctor, this is just my personal opinion. If in doubt, speak to your doctor, nurse, pharmacist, support worker, other qualified person, etc first.

I ordered this for my dad but the first one I got was so heavy I even struggled to carry it. I ordered the heaviest one first.I could never have used it on my frail dad I felt it would have crushed him. So I returned it and got the smaller of the 3 choices.Now that one was perfect. I tested it first over night and I slept like a baby. it did not feel restricting or surprisingly make me feel hot.I felt very rested the next morning. I'm usually kicking my quilt off at night because I'm hot, but having this on over the top of my quilt I didn't wake up through the night like I normally do with this on top of me. I don't understand how this works but it did/does. If you want calming sleep get one of them it brilliant. Iv used it on my dad since and he is a lot more settled through the night. Going to order myself one now too.Love it. It did not feel like i had the weight of it on me at all. It felt snug.Updated 13/08/24I have since sent the lager one back and had a refund without any problems. Ordered the lighter one and used this over my Dad. He did not feel restricted and slept very comfortably with it over him. Im very happy with this purchase.

I bought nit for myself but recently found out I'm pregnant and has been making me feel nauseous. I'll try again after pregnancy. My partner loves it so it's to good use. :)

I 100% recommend it's is well made and heavy. My dad loves it and helps with his restless legs.

Amazing I now have more sleep & in a bit less pain from having this definitely recommend
