I wanted an umbrella to use to shield myself from sunlight. I would get unpleasantly hot and fatigued by being in the sun, even when the day was not terribly hot. I can't review this umbrella for rain, but for protecting me from the sun, it does a great job.

This is a great compact umbrella for use as a sunshade. I bought this for a Florida trip to a theme park that is notorious for having no shade. It gave me an instant drop in temperature and saved me from that Florida sun. Easy to pack, push button open and close.

Perfect for sunny and rainy days! Took it to a theme park and got a bunch of compliments.

Looks well made. I have not used yet, so I can't comment on how well it blocks sun or how well it will hold up. Hopeful I will be well pleased.

Took it to Egypt with me in 105 degree temperature and was very pleased with it.

Item broke the first day I tried to use it. I’m guessing the issue was accidentally pushing the button too soon??

I just received my umbrella and put it to test by holding it up against a large window where the sun was directly glaring into it. I opened it up and placed the umbrella fabric a few inches away from the glass. I was pleasantly surprised to see that no sun came through the fabric. I then held it up to the window where half the umbrella was in direct sunlight and the other half protected by the adjoining wall. There was absolutely no difference. I couldn't see any light coming through on either half.The instructions are on the hang tag attached to the handle. I like that the umbrella closes up by pushing the button in the same way one presses it to open it up. The only difference is that you have to the push the stem down towards the handle to latch it closed. It was easy enough to do and better than the complete manual process of less quality ones I have owned in the past. Once it latched, I gently pulled out the folds and was able to return it to the same neat way it arrived with the attached velcro strap.The sleeve is nice in that the closed umbrella slides easily into it and fits nicely. No skimping on the fabric and struggling to get it back in like another one I used own. The only improvement I would make might be a snap to keep the sleeve in place, but that isn't a deal breaker by any means. Highly recommend.All in all, this is a product I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to protect themselves from the sun during this record breaking summer heat. I will be buying another one of the same in different colors to share with family.
