This book is a real treat to look through. High quality photographs, each one is fascinating. Descriptions and information about the subject of the images as well which is great. Quite small for a photo book, but a really lovely and affordable present idea. Lots of people have complained about the distressing images at the back but that is nature! To give the book a bad review because of a few provocative photos (featured in order to educate and raise awareness of issues) is really childish in my opinion. It is a gift for adults for sure because of that but it is by no means a reason not to buy it. Highly recommend.

An amazing book, great value for money. The relatively low price of the book of course means that the images are smaller than we'd like, and occasionally spread across a page divide. But purely on the level of enjoyment, this is a beautiful collection with print to reveal the stories behind the pictures and some tentacle information.The last chapter, however, is deeply disturbing. It features photographs which illustrate the desecration and destruction of animals and their environment. Some of these images are very violent and disturbing, featuring mutilated animals. I agree with the inclusion of such images, but I wish there had been a warning.

An excellent review of the wildlife photographer of the year books, obviously if you have the yearbooks this will be repeating what you already have.The technical quality of the photography increases every year, though I think that some of the pictures have become a little too arty over the years.

This is a beautiful book, big, high quality pages and what can I say. The images are amazing. It would have been the ideal gift except for the last ten pages or so which feature some really upsetting images. I know it's important that people see what's happening in the world and that we do something about it where we can. But I have to warn you if you are thinking of buying this that the final images include: a monkey's head in a bowl as part of a businessman's dinner; a dead bear being drained of its bile; an elephant having its tusk sawn off; and a really haunting image of the last sumatran tiger. I don't dispute that these images were deserving winners of this prestigious award. But I also can't in all conscience present this to a loved one as a gift. I'd be pretty unhappy at the idea of my children flicking through these images and surely the idea of a coffee table, gift style book is that you can have it out where anyone can look through it. Such a shame as the intended recipient would have loved this book.

Purchased this as a gift for an avid photographer and animal lover who absolutely loved this book. I had a quick look through before wrapping it and was very impressed by the exceptional images and quality print. Brilliant.

Wonderful imagery in this book, it makes me wish I could take pictures like this myself. This book is for sure one of my favorites in my entire collection, and is something that I am going to hold on to for years. It's heavy, and the pages feel like quality paper, the quality of the printed image is stunning too.

A great book, it came ever so slightly damaged with little indents on the front cover and the spine, but they are not very visible. Also, the paper quality, although it's made of out glossy paper, it does leave fingerprints for a few moments after touching in. But all in all I hope it'll be a good birthday present.
