I like this brand of layer pellets because it does not contain genetically modified soya, and instead is wheat based which is more natural for chickens. Also it contains seaweed and yeast which are excellent sources of micronutrients for poultry.I also particularly like this brand because of the small, thinner pellets. I have had other brands with supposedly smaller pellets that are still as thick as standard pellets, just chopped shorter. These are much better for my tiny bantams to eat.Finally there seems to be very little dust in the bag which has not been the case with other famous brands (Fancy Feeds, I'm looking at you, you dusty nightmare).Overall my chickens enjoy the pellets and lay well, and I enjoy the great price and happy flock. 5 stars.I hope you find this helpful.

Sadly, I ordered 2 bags and both bags were 2 months out of date!!!I know the product and specifically wanted this product as I know the pellets are nice and small, ideal for when moving from mash or for bantams.I will still use the bags as it will be ok, it just means some of the vitamin/protein content won't be as high. Shame as delivery time was excellent and having 5kgs delivered was really handy (we sell this product at work in 20kgs but I wanted smaller bags). I will just think twice about re-ordering from here again :-(

When we first got chickens I spent a fair bit of time looking up layers' pellet ingredients. The problem? I'm coeliac and allergic to soya, and the risk of accidentally inhaling something that might make me ill was real.Clearly there are no gluten-free layers' pellets to be found, but I found these that are free from soya and so at least won't result in anaphylaxis. Fortunately our chooks seem to be delighted with them, and the resulting eggs are downright delicious, so it's a win all round. Extra points also given for the perfect golden yolks.

My three hens are fussy eaters and I’ve tried them on all sorts of feed. The pellets are small which is great for my bantams. This one is the one I’m sticking with now as they seem to prefer it. First time round I bought a large bag but I couldn’t get through it before it expired and ended up wasting quite a lot. These little bags are a convenient size and I get fast delivery when it’s running low.

This delivery arrived on the 6th January and had been sent and delivered quickly - but when I checked it’s packaging information it has a ‘ Best Before’ (use by) date of 13th January 2022 . The Best Before date on my previous purchase of the same product, which my chickens had nearly finished was actually longer by two months.I have been sent old stock that was almost out of date.

All my Aseel Hen and can’t get enough of it as soon as I open the garden they run towards me unlike before and they are much happier and healthier and laying bigger and better eggs 🥚.

I put 5-star for flavour, purely because my ducks seem to love it. Good quality feed, hasn't that unusual smell. Value for money.
