Hi, can someone kindly tell me what is the minimum and maximum timer settings are for this fan? Thank you
does the unit come on automatically when detecting steam?
If operated by the bathroom light switch and I'm only in for 5mins, does the humidistat come on automatically if light then turned off?
If my electrical wiring is on the left-hand of my extractor hole, can the unit be fitted upside down to accommodate? Or will writing be upside down?

Better impossible

Let's start saying that this is not the first air extractor I buy. I returned a Manrose Quite because it was actually "not quiet" at all, apart from developing a rattling few weeks after installation. This is actually really QUIET.1) NoiseAt 2mt distance I record 45 db pick, but I have no carpet on the floor to absorb vibrations. To compare, with a normal air extractor that I bought at the same time, I record 55db (with carpet). In the bathroom you can obviously hear it. When I close the door the sound goes does to 28 db. I can ensure you that at night, with the door of the bathroom close (and the door of the bedroom open) I can barely hear it.2) InstallationExtremely easy to install. It uses a couple of clamps to stay in place on the roof, which I found extremely more useful and confortable to having to drill again and again, also considering the fact the my roof is plaster that brits easily.Cable connection is straight forward. Three cables with and easy nomenclature and job done.3) I love the fact that the timer does not start immediately but it is delayed 5 seconds. In this way if you turn on the light for just a moment or by mistake the turbine would not be activated.4) Suction power. I consider this pretty standard and in line with the Manrose. When I shower the mirror still gets foggy but it last much less than without the extractor. Also I don't have anymore condensation inside the glass window. Important to consider that this model has a shutter on top of the turbine that it closes itself when it is not in use avoiding annoying raft of air coming from the loft during cold winter.5) Design. Honestly this is a much modern design that the Manrose. The turbine is hided behind a nice panel.TO IMPROVE1) Timer switch. To adjust the time you have to unscrew the top. I believe that they could have placed the dial in a better place but it is also true that once installed it is something you want to constantly change.2) The colour of the plastic. This results to be a brilliant white (with a point of blue). It is quite noticeable compared with the white that is normally used for wall which has a warm point. To sum up. I am extremely happy with this air extractor and I believe I made the right choice returning the Manrose.

Quiet fan, does the job but do read the instructions closely.

The fan is very neat and works well. I have dropped a star as the instructions are not perfect and there were issues in the installation, see below. The instructions are the usual 40 page multi-lingual tome with 4 pages of illustrations and 4 in English which relate to the illustrations. I got the local handyman to install it as a ceiling fan to replace the previous wall mounting. He was unfamiliar with the model and missed an essential item in the instructions - I had to refit everything once he had left. (First lesson - read the instructions yourself and do a complete dry assembly)The square baffle plate over the fan has to be set parallel to the wall or square to the ceiling. To do this Xpelair have a raised line on the motor plate marked LEVEL. He had not spot the need to Level (wall fitting) or align (ceiling fitting). (Second lesson) To aid proper fitment I highlighted this line in pencil and a similar line on the ceiling. When fitting I aligned the two.Once secured I copied the wiring for there previous fan - grey to T, black to Neutral and brown to Live. Once switched on 'nothing' happened as there is no test mechanism to test the installation, the only way is to run the shower and increase the humidity. Once we got it 'working' it became apparent there were issues that I don't need to detail except to say the fan would not stop. After trying various options I contacted Xpelair. They advised that I switched two wires over. This improved matters but was not quite right. I then did a further swap and it now all works. As I had switched the timer to minimum and humidity stat to max I now need to reset these to better values. Third lesson, do not fit the fan cover until you are satisfied that the humidity stat kicks in at the right level and that the over run timer is long enough. It would be very useful if you had a humidity sensor so you could set things up. (I have).Once everything was setup and running we had the option to set the fan speed from the default Low Speed to High Speed by moving a jumper. In high there is a clearly audible rush of air through the fan (I haven't tried with the baffle plates on) At low speed the airflow is still audible in the bathroom but there is no sound outside the room.In conclusion, excellent support by Xpelair but installation, while not difficult, requires a bit more care than a simple circular mount timer fan. We ordered a second for the other bathroom. With prior experience the old fan was out and the new in in well under an hour. The wall fitting highlighted another problem. The previous fan power was on the left, the Xpelaire input is on the right. I had to install the fan upside down with the logo also upside down. Excellent fan but not 5* for the issues listed.

It’s works and it’s quiet!

This was an easy fit in an newly fitted en-suite. I Google what the building regulations were and after going through many nice looking fans this one fitted what I needed. It arrived quickly and the plumber and electrician fitted it within the week. It can be fitted with a different shaped front as it comes with a couple and the important bit for me was that it can remove 25ltrs or 15ltrs of steam a second and it runs for 15 minutes once the shower is switched off as needed with the building regulations for en-suite bathrooms / shower rooms. And excellent piece of kit and I need four more and I will be buying these
