Absolute must for all gardeners
This is the 2nd bag I've ordered this year and I'm sharing with a friend who finished her 10L bag bought from a garden center for £10. She couldn't believe how reasonable this bag but didnt need 100L. I have used vermiculite every year in seed sowing and after watching a video on you tube I realised that I needed more vermiculite in my seed sowing mix. However its very expensive in the shops so I looked for a cheaper alternative. This vermiculite was exceptional value and arrived very quickly. The actual particles are small so perfect for all my seeds. I cannot recommend this particular make enough. Its fantastic value and there is so much that you can be generous in your seed mix. Plenty left over for potting on mix as well. I will definitely be buying another bag ready for my autumn seed sowing.

Great product
Great for incorporating into seed compost mixes to help retain heat, drainage, and as a dressing ontop to prevent water evaporation and the compost drying out. Seedling have not trouble pushing there way through.Overall a fantastic product.

Big bag and big value
If you use a lot of vermiculite, then this is a bargain. Currently the 10 litre bags garden centres sell are going for £8-10 so 10 times that for just shy of £34 is a huge saving, and at that price means you can be a bit more generous with its use.If you know nothing about vermiculite, or the similar perlite, both can be used to aerate soil and compost, perlite being better for aeration, and both help retain moisture without waterlogging, vermiculite absorbing more moisture than perlite. Both can be used on their own to root cuttings.Be warned though, it is a huge bag, not particularly heavy, but big, unwieldly and bulky, and you need to store it somewhere.

Good stuff, medium grade
Bought this and 100l of perlite. The perlite was a total let down as it was mostly powder, but this has been great. I wouldnt use too much, may 15-20% as it does hold onto water quite well. It's a bit on the expensive side, but generally happy with the product.

Very good value
This is excellent value in comparison to smaller bags/boxes that can be bought from garden centres. Although it's a 100 litre bag it is very light due to the nature of the product so is easy to lift/use. We bought it to use in a raised vegetable bed for square foot gardening. The vermiculite is meant to provide good water retention without water logging, and also nutrients for plants. We used this with compost and coco coir and only used water (no fertilisers whatsoever) and this resulted in really healthy plant growth. Would definitely recommend this product for anyone who needs vermiculite.

Excellent quality
Great big bag of 100l vermiculite arrived promptly before due date. In time for me to use in pots with compost for growing my tomatoes and chilli plants. Better value for me rather than buying 10l bags.

Huge bag, good quality
The media could not be loaded. Wasn't sure what to expect from such a large quantity. This bag is HUGE!!!!! It's similar to a large sack of flour in terms of size. Really happy with it, very light and not heavy at all. I have limited mobility and I could life the bag no problem. I even tried to lift it one handed and I could!I got it to help retain moisture in potted plants, to help cut back on the amount of watering I need to do. It's good quality and the pieces are small but not tiny, so perfect for pots. You can get bigger size pieces for outdoor use to add straight to your garden soil, but this is perfect for my needs. There's a mix of small sizes in the bag as you can see from the film I attached. This not only helps retain moisture but will help drainage and open up the soil too, so helping prevent soil compaction. I know perlite is better at adding drainage, but this is better for my needs as it helps retain water but perlite doesn't.Be aware this stuff is as light as air and will blow away easily with the slightest breeze. So choose a sheltered spot if using outside and close the nearest window if using inside! It doesn't give off too much dust, but it does give off some. So if using it a lot, you can decant some and lightly spray with water to help keep the dust at bay until mixed with your compost. I found that moving slowly while using this helped prevent a lot of dust being created. Then as soon as you mix it with compost, which is damp, no more dust came off it.For ratio, I mix anywhere from 15-25%, depending on the plants. For fruit trees and salad crops in pots up to 45cm diameter, I use about 15% vermiculite, a handful of perlite and the rest compost and manure. For my date palms that need much more drainage I use 25% vermiculite and compost only, no perlite. I hope this helps give you an idea of how much to use for what plant.Overall very happy with this and will definitely buy again, though this bag will last me ages!!
