Color:Precious Petals This Precious Petals EcoUrn Biodegradable Cremation Urn is made of handmade biodegradable material. These urns are suitable for ground burial or displaying in your home. Due to the nature of this handmade product, color and pattern may slightly vary. The Environment Earthurns are manufactured with the environment in mind. The tree bark used to make the urn is harvested from the mulberry tree in such a way that the tree continues to grow, undamaged. This sustainable process is centuries old and ensures the preservation of ancient forests. Once the bark of the tree is harvested, it is soaked until soft and then laid out on to bamboo screens where floral materials are inlaid by hand. The screens are then placed in the sun to dry. The resulting material is used to make beautiful and environmentally-friendly urns. Biodegradable Water Burial The Journey Earthurn is perfect for water burial. Once on the ocean floor it will break down naturally. Biodegradable Ground Burial Journey Earthurns are fabricated by hand from recycled and eco-friendly paper which breaks down naturally" when buried. They are durable, with no "shelf life" and will NOT begin to biodegrade until they are buried in the ground. Each Earthurn included an EPA-approved, biodegradable plastic bag. Scattering Journey Earthurns are perfect for scattering. They open easily to facilitate the scattering process. Families that plan on purchasing a Journey Earthurn for scattering over water should be advised to remove the biodegradable bag with the cremated remains from the urn and place only the bag in the water. The bag will dissolve, dispersing the cremated remains, and the Earthurn can be kept for the storage of personal mementos. Each urn is handmade and may vary slightly in appearance.

The plastic bag inside sprang a leak like others said
The plastic bag inside sprang a leak like others said. I wish this would have came with another bag for extra protection. We had to hold the urn a certain way so it would not spill once the rains were in there. The container itself is nice, we wrote the name on the outside and then stuck flowers in it and it really did look beautiful. We tossed the remains in the ocean from a cruise ship so with the waves and engine I could not see if it floated. But due to the weight I would have assumed it sank immediately.

Perfect
I read all the reviews for this after I bought it. I was skeptical about whether I had done the right thing and worried that it would be an epic fail and "sink like a rock" once it was placed in the water (as some reviews mentioned).I was very pleased with the product in terms of appearance and quality, but was still very concerned that it would float for 3-5 minutes as claimed. A simple instruction sheet would have helped a lot, but none was included or available on the seller's website. I called their customer service with questions and seeking advice on the best ways to insure success. I must say that the man I spoke to was very helpful and reassuring, but right up to the time I placed it in the water, I was skeptical. As you can see from the photos, everything went as hoped for and my fears immediately became a sigh of relief. Everything worked perfectly as the container floated for at least 4 minutes before gracefully drifting away and slowly submerging below the surface. Some things I learned that may help others... 1) The cremains used was about 120 cubic inches 2) The folding guides are on the inside and not apparent until you look inside 3) The string used to tie the bag broke while trying to tightly close the bag. A piece of cotton cord (also biodegradable, but stronger) did the trick. 4) I did not press all of the air out of the bag before closing it with string. I don't know whether that helped it float, but it sure didn't hurt. 5) The string for lacing up the white decorative band also snapped at the knot but I had enough to make it work. The strings provided with the product are a balance between a nice appearance, biodegradability and strength. USE CAUTION as they break easily. 6) Before setting it in the water, I gently shook the container side to side to level the contents so it would lay flat on the water and not immediately dip to one side due to the weight being unbalanced. 7) For any that are curious, a couple of dabs of hot glue nicely and effectively attached the flowers to the white band.I was very pleased with the product and would highly recommend it to others.

Eco-Friendly Water Interment Option
This urn is exactly what we were looking for to hold a water-interment ceremony for our loved one. Yes, somewhat expensive but in my opinion worth the money. The urn was shipped quickly and arrived exactly as we had ordered it. Its eco-friendly and biodegradable components were major reasons for choosing this urn.Our main complaint is that there are no instructions or helpful hints included. Our experience: We purchased the large urn and it was filled per the manufacturer's suggestion of maximum healthy live weight of 200 lbs. We pushed all the air from the bag that was then enclosed in the urn. The strings holding the white strip were tied lightly. The urn was placed in the water and sank in less than 1 minute.A few tips: Be sure to level the contents by shaking back & forth to keep any one side from being heavier & tipping more quickly into the water. 2) It may be helpful to retain a little air in the bag when placing it into the urn to add buoyancy. Maybe that would keep the urn from sinking as quickly as ours did. 3) Don't tie the tie holding the white strip too tightly. It's not meant to try to cinch anything closed, more to keep the white strip in place. Be gentle. All in all it was the perfect send-off for our loved one, and a gentle goodbye from those of us left behind. I would highly recommend this urn.

Questions
It looks OK but it would be helpful if instructions were included. This is after all, a serious matter matter for anyone ordering such a product.

Beautiful
Beautiful container for your loved ones. No instructions. Don’t pull too hard on strings that tie the band because it will break. All in all I loved it

Good quality
Used for a burial at sea, it was easy to get together, sturdy, and stayed afloat for a few minutes once it was in the water. Color was as pictured and the Large worked well for us. Hope no one ever needs it but if you do it was a quality product. Shipping was fast and dependable.

Worked the way it was supposed to
The urn worked the way it was supposed to. I didn’t have any trouble transferring the ashes into the biodegradable bag. I was able to give my mom the send off she wanted.WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Talk about taking advantage of the grieving. Perfect Memorials should be ashamed. But there are no other options so they get away with it.

this product was way overpriced and I feel took advantage of a personal decision to cremate...........yes, it did what it was supposed to do. But the price for what it is was outrageously overpriced.
