I use QAL as a form of birth control. Personally, I don’t want to take a birth control pill because of all the negative side effects I see my friends dealing with (heavy weight gain, hormone imbalance, mood swings, etc etc...) So I opted for a natural remedy. Which is always the better choice for your body. I’ve been using this for approximately 8 months, and it’s working wonderfully. Not to give too much info (lol), but my husband and I don’t use condoms. I’ve read where people use condoms along with QAL, but for us the QAL does just fine (along with “pulling out”). During the week of ovulation, I take about 10-20 drops every morning in a shot of orange juice and I can barely taste it. The day before, of, and after ovulation I take that dose again in the afternoon. So far it’s been working. I have no weight gain, hormonal imbalances, mood swings, or any other negative side effect related with a typical birth control pill. I’m also not pregnant, which is the whole point. I’ve heard many people say that when they go off of QAL, there is no hormonal recovery time. Women can immediately get pregnant when they stop using it if they choose to.I’ve read where the Romans used to use QAL as their form of birth control, so it’s not a new idea or anything. It’s been around for a couple thousand years. The pill on the other hand is a much newer invention. Personally I prefer the old tried and true way.The tincture itself is a glycerine based formula, so it has a slightly sweet taste to it. Again, in orange juice, you can barely notice it’s there.UPDATE - 2 years laterI ran out of this tincture in the October AFTER my original review and wasn’t taking it as normal. I ended up getting pregnant that month that I wasn’t using QAL. (But I also was intimate with my husband ON ovulation day.)My husband and I had a car accident two months later and I miscarried the baby. It wasn’t a very nasty car accident, just a couple scrapes and a jolt on impact, but it was enough to lose the pregnancy. I’m wondering if this tincture impacted me in a way that made it able to miscarry more easily. Not sure, but I am curious.

Bought this as a natural alternative to birth control, as synthetic contraceptives cause too many issues for me. I’ve taken this during ovulation days only (1 dropper-full per day) for three months now... so far so good — even with unprotected encounters during ovulation days with the hubby. Period comes right on time with no harmful/ghastly side effects! So thankful for this natural and safe method! And bonus: it tastes great, like sweet carrots 🥕☺️
