Chase Bible Study Guide: Chasing After the Heart of God

We just completed this study by Jennie Allen and it was an excellent study. We used the videos and they were short but very powerful. Enjoyed the weekly projects that helped you to examine yourself. We had four small groups of about eighty women and the majority of them stayed for the entire seven weeks. We didn't have a problem with poor attendance. We met for ninety minutes on Tuesday's for seven weeks. I would highly recommend this study for those who are chasing after the heart of God. EXCELLENT! Also loved the Question Cards.

This is by far the best women's bible study I have ever read—and I even hesitate to call it a women's bible study, because it's just human, and I think the only reason it gets classified as a "women's" study is because it was written by a woman. Definitely not a fair assessment.Studying the life of David, Jennie gets in deep with really hard-hitting questions about what motivates us, what we're afraid of, and who we're trying to please. Jennie doesn't have all the answers, but she's taken an honest journey to find God and hasn't apologized for the truth she's uncovered. Not only has this study made me take another look at my own motivations and my own faith, but it's made me see others differently.This is truly the study I wish I'd been able to read as a younger me. All the wasted time buying into the "appearance" of godliness—but the difference between David and Saul (and between David and me) is that David didn't care about appearing to be godly. He was chasing something much bigger.

We are in our third week of Chase and I love it just as much as I loved her first study Stuck. Jennie Allen is the first woman Christian author that I have connected with in a very long time. She has so much passion for truth and challenges women to look deeper into their souls. I would encourage everyone to go through this study and her other study Stuck if looking for a transformational Bible study. They are both one of a kind studies that you are not going to find from any other author.This study is on the life of David and has really given me a new perspective on his life. And I have connected with his story in ways I haven't before. So excited for the weeks ahead as we complete it!

I'm really enjoying digging deep into my own spiritual pursuit of God. All the content is awesome. You're so real, so simply earnest. You're encouraging me to live like God is as real for me as He was for David!

Very good study individually or in a group. The leaders guide and classwork additions were very helpful. It was great. Looking forward to other studies by this author.

It was okay. I didn't care for her writing style, plus I didn't really think she delved into the stories about David very thoroughly. She missed some key points that could have been included in the study. I think that what she did put in the book was "fluff" (for lack of a better word). There just wasn't much substance to it. I thought that the content of the lessons was pretty much the same from lesson to lesson: David was a man after God's own heart, and we should be more like David. There -- I pretty much gave away the whole book right there.I think this book would be better suited to a new Christian.You need to get the DVD to go with this book, although I didn't care much for the DVD, either. I thought there was more fluff in the DVD than in the book.I bought the Kindle version, and it was difficult to read. Either the text was huge or it was very tiny, since she changed font sizes often within each lesson. Plus, I think it would be the kind of book you would want to write in. If you're going to get the book, I would recommend that you buy the print edition.

So Far this is a great study! Have gone almost half way through and absolutely LOVE it! Jennie Allen is so good, and easy to listen to. Doing this as a small group and SO happy with it. I think this study is best with a smaller group as opposed to a large group due to the interaction and discussion that you can do with the questions and topics.

Once again, my girl Jennie is raw and personal as she discusses what we are "chasing." The topics are personal and you can relate no matter where you are in life. She speaks on anyone's level and never talks over your head. She always helps you feel that you are normal, you are understood. God loves you, and she proves that through ever single page. This made our "small" group grow closer to each other and the Lord. Amazing as always!

Came quickly and just as described. Will be a great stocking stuffer for my daughter this year.

Changed my whole Faith and made me grow even closer to God. Growing up in the church, you need this sort of study to help you see who God really is and how you've had it wrong the whole time.
