Is this soft? I wanna make my own moss bath rug and was wondering if it would be good to stand on.

My experience with the decorative artificial moss rocks is that they are great for placing in plantings to create the appearance of mossy rocks, but they are hollow and very light, and would be crushed by weight as little as a large cat or small dog stepping on them. They would not be good for a bath rug. The quantity of loose fake moss provided for placing among the fake moss rocks would not be nearly enough for a bath rug, and it is also not intended for lots of handling. It would come apart and stick to your feet.

Can you add this to aquarium water

In my opinion, strongly NO. First, the artificial rocks are light foam or hollow plastic, and will float on top of the water. The constant bumping into each other and the motion of the water would be sure to rub them bald pretty quickly, and all those little green fibers would be in the water being eaten by your fish, making them sick or even killing them. Second, the loose preserved moss would fall apart in the water. It is dyed green and mine showed up still moist with a pungent chemical odor. It dried out quickly, but I still would not want to have that go into my aquarium water. Even if it were safe, this preserved moss would be like tissue paper in the water, and if the fish did not rip it to pieces and get sick eating it, just time and the motion of the water will rip it up and probably clock your filter.

Basically, this product is intended to sit on household surfaces to decorate, or to sit on the dirt of potted plants to give them some bright appeal. It will work poorly or not at all for tanks for fish, lizards, or snakes, which could get sick eating it.

My shipment did include a small baggy of real, dried and dyed moss, so your shipment might have been shorted by accident. I would contact the seller for a replacement part or arrange to return the product. But I would add, it is not much of the real moss, and it is far less attractive than the stones. You are not missing out on much. It might not be worth your time to pursue it. Good luck!
