Good for Basic Projects
This works well with my Raspberry Pi 4. Setting it up was straightforward; I just followed the online instructions. The image quality is decent for the price. I mainly use it for basic computer vision projects, and it gets the job done. But the focus could be sharper. For simple tasks, it's a good value.

functional
I used this and an RPi to run Octoprint and it worked well in that instance. I'm sure it would also work for the Klipper printer I turned that RPi into but, I couldn't seem to make that work.

Okay for some projects, but lacking frames.
Worked with libcamera and rpicam on my raspberry pi 4B, the images and video was about 30 FPS. Good for minor projects or experimenting but probably not quality enough for a home security system. 4 stars from me, which is better than the initial return I was considering.

This is my 2nd Camera and still no Focus on my prints
This is my second camera, thinking the first was broken, but there is no manual focus and my image is blurry and so I give this 0 STARS!EDIT 3/3/23: Their support messaged me and solved my problem!..... (It's been a couple of weeks and good amount of prints later!)....They advised to use pliers to turn the face of the camera, but be careful not to loosen it so much that it falls off and don't scratch the lens while using pliers........ On the other hand if you use a 3D printer then you can print the tool yourself, thus avoiding the risks above!!.... Search for "raspberry pi camera focus tool 3d print". So I'm upping my previous one star rating to a five star rating and also saying that I would buy this camera again now that I know how to focus it! Sorry for the misunderstand, thank you for your Support!

Make sure all the cables come
Product title states that this is compatible with the Pi 5. The included ribbon cable is not compatible with the new Pi, and there are no other cables included. Now I need to buy an additional ribbon cable separately to make this work. Huge waste of time and just overall not stated in the description or comments, anywhere.Update: The company has been super responsive in offering either a refund, or a replacement cable for the one that should’ve come in the box. They were very willing to make things right

which is pretty unbelievable. I assume most companies would be glad ...
Make sure to buy directly from Arducam. They exceeded any customer service experience I've ever had. I bought it for the pi zero which, unknown to me at the time, has a smaller connector than the pi3. I thought I was out of luck but I noticed that another reviewer had the same problem and was sent a new cable by arducam. Contacted them and they asked that I just confirm my shipping address. I was busy at the time and completely forgot to get back to them. A week later, they got back to me again to remind me about the cable, which is pretty unbelievable. I assume most companies would be glad that I forgot. Ended up confirming address and got it a couple days later. Great experience. As far as the camera, the picture is more than suitable for a security cam. Plug and play with motionpieos. Regretfully, I also bought the official cam for twice as much and while I haven't used that one yet I don't think there will be any benefit for what I'm using it for.

Works well, a worthy alternative to the official PiCam
I bought this to save money; $13 versus whatever the PiCam was at the time seemed like a good deal to me, as I only intended to use it to monitor my 3D printer and make sure nothing catastrophic was happening while I was away.It has exceeded my expectations. Setup was easy, and the quality of the camera's picture is as good as the PiCams I've seen in this range. Like all these cameras, their ability to focus is not great, and once that focal length is set it does not change automatically, but it can get the job done assuming the subject isn't moving towards or away from the camera often.I attached a picture taken from the camera via a web-based remote monitoring service; this is of my printer bed, with the lights in the room off. For reference, the only light source is a 2ft strip of 300k LEDs positioned about 12" from the bed surface.
