I bought this for myself to practise hand embroidery and I wanted something that was printed and charted out with the floss already selected. The navy background and bright flowers appealed to my taste, so this is the one I chose.The quality is pretty good for the price. The plastic hoop has worked better than I expected, and has a ridge on the inside to keep the fabric taut. The floss has a good sheen and colour, although the different coloured flosses vary in terms of quality and thickness. I didn't use the needles. They're very long and sticky-taped to the floss organiser card, so they seemed best left where they were. I substituted quality needles that I use for hand sewing. The design remained intact throughout the project and did not rub away. I haven't tried removing it yet so I can't comment on that.The design is pretty, although it relies heavily on satin stitch. I wanted to use the kit more as a sampler, so I challenged myself (as a complete beginner) and switched up some of the satin stitch for other stitches. I think it worked well and added some extra interest to the project making me more likely to finish.The instructions are a little eccentric and hard to follow. They call backstitch 'outline stitch' and the woven wheel rose stitch is called 'spider web rose stitch'. It's easy enough to look these stitches up in a book or online to find better instructions. Fortunately I'd read a book that demonstrated these stitches before I started the kit, so I knew the proper names and could research the techniques.The kit includes instructions for finishing the hoop back and preparing it for display.Overall I enjoyed this kit and I'd recommend it for beginners looking for an all-in-one kit. It would make a lovely gift, although you would want to transfer it to nicer packaging.

Really kit kit, everything as advertised. Clear instructions and easy to get started with. More than enough thread to cover up my mistakes!

Almost finished this, and have really enjoyed the embroidery. There are various ways of stitching to try, which I really liked. The stitching instructions could possibly be slightly clearer, but that might be just my personal preference.

I love it ! Is simple and fun .

I am a beginner and I loved this. I am a 46 year old though so have some determination behind me. .this got me completely smitten with embroidery and my piece turned out just like the instructionsI have now went on to accidentally purchase a huge amount of embroidery parifanalia and im a very happy girl in my world of creativity.Thanks guys!

Instructions are easy. Turned out beautiful. My 14 year old daughter did this as her first embroidery project and it was a great experience for her.

Was my first time doing embroidery. Was fun and relaxing. This was a good kit for a beginners like me. The kit Came with more than enough thread and good instructions. I saw some reviews saying the thread is thick or ppl ran out. Each strand has 6 thin strands so I think some ppl didn’t unravel a thick stand to use 2-3 thin stands as instructed. I think unraveling might be difficult to do if you have finger pain. Takes patience and my thumb joint got a bit sore after unraveling so many strands. Sometimes strands knotted up as I pulled it fast so going slower minimized knots. Looking to buy another one!
