Yes, there is a switch in the back for the hot water.

Q: Is it difficult to refill a bottom load water dispenser? I would like to throw away my top loading water dispenser and get a bottom loading one.

Quite easy to load as it is a bottom-load dispenser. Just take the cap off the water bottle and place it in the cooler with the intake part in place.

Yes, it should work. You can try making sure the attachments to the water bottle is firmly attached. Customer service is also excellent and you can reach out to them.
