Got this for my 1999 ford explorer 4.0 , 1st vin number is # 1 so car not made in Mexico. This part looked exactly same as the original . pulled the gas tank out and it dropped right in no problem, 1.5hr job. Car started right up !!! Good to go :)

Bought this fuel pump for my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac I had it professionally installed and it stopped working in less than a month or so. I couldn’t return it for a refund and couldn’t contact the seller for the warranty ended up buying another from Oriely and paid double the price plus paying to have it installed again. I would not recommend this pump to anyone. DO NOT BUY

Good replacement pump and sending unit
I never really understood why Ford did the whole set-up inside the fuel tank, However, they did, so that being said you have to drop your tank to change out the pump, and I guess the consensus is while you're doing all that you might as well replace the fuel sending unit as well. So in that regard, this is a good-priced unit and so far is functioning perfectly... Oh, don't forget that you will need special tools to uncouple the fuel lines as well.
