You DO need a drill to get this together, but once together it works very well
You really do need a drill to get this together. I tried to put it together with just a screwdriver, that did not work out at all. I was beginning to strip the screws. Thankfully, my neighbor was able to help me out and finished putting the last few screws in with his drill. It went together without any problems after that using the drill. The wood is quite hard, using steam doesn't seem to harm the wood in any way. The entire piece is quite versatile and can be used in multiple ways. Once it's together it works as advertised, allowing you to get into those tight, curved areas that wouldn't be possible to access with a regular iron and board, or even with other specialty ironing aides.

Pain in the backside to assemble
When the pilot holes are actually in the correct positions, they're too small and shallow to get the screws in without stripping the heads. So, grab a drill if you want to assemble this thing. Otherwise, the wood is good and smooth. If you can get it assembled, it should work just as well as the $80 June Tailor version.

4 star item with a 5 star price
This would be a 4 star item when compared with top of line competitor products. When compared with top of the line prices, this elevates to 5 stars.I needed a replacement to first arrival for the lack of screws & instructions. Amazon had a replacement to me the very next day. Thanks Amazon. If you find yourself in a similar situation and you think it would be easier to just use zinc screws you've got in the garage, consider this item is intended to meet with great quantities of stream... ...repeatedly.Zinc screws will rust. Rust and fabric do not play nice together. The screws that come with it are chrome plated. (Stainless steel is even better, but hey...)I spent a half hour rubbing down the critical areas with some 800 grit and it smoothed up nicely. Don't be tempted to brush a finish on it... ...the wood needs to able to absorb moisture. Varnish, Polyurethane, etc. will obstruct that absorption. If you're missing just the instruction sheet, I've posted a copy to this review.

Package A screws are too long.
I ordered this a while back, but only assembled it tonight. The assembly went fairly smoothly until it came time to assemble the clapper. The bag with two screws is labled Package A and the instructions say to use Package A to connect the handle and the base of the clapper. I used a Phillips screw driver to manually turn the screws, tightening the screws until the handle was no longer loose. I didn’t realize until I was done that the screws had gone through to the other side. This is useless now as the screws and wood would snag on any fabric I’d be pressing. $30 down the drain.

Completely overpriced at fifty plus dollars. Wholly agree with ...
Completely overpriced at fifty plus dollars. Wholly agree with other three star reviewers about misalignment of screw holes and difficulty to get the screws in all the way.

Easy Assembly smooth finish
The pieces fit easily together and have a smooth finish . Mine was missing the tailor board screws , I used dry wall screws in their place and they worked well . No trouble with assembly all pre-drilled holes lined up well with counter sunk entry holes . Screws went in tightly but easily . This is a bit high priced but I have not seen any cheaper . You can Google search and down load a free pattern if you wish to make your own . I would have used a dense maple as this product seems a little light . Have to see what my wife thinks of it will try to follow up with comment .
