Aids with ADHD fidgeting and attention

My son's favorite 11th birthday gift! Not because he likes math, but because he hates fractions! He did not need any help to quickly learn how to use the various functions needed for homeschool math (we use Math Mammoth, grade 6). Great calculator that works well-- with the added bonus of improving my ADHD son's attitude, attention, and tolerance during math lessons, even when only used occasionally during a lesson.

It’s a Texas Instrument !!

10 for functionality, easy of use. They last forever. You just have to replace battery every year or so. The buttons are easy to press and very light weight. Reliable and worth the $$

My favorite scientific calculator

This is my all time favorite scientific calculator. It got me through high school and college and it stopped working only after being thrown around by my toddlers. I decided to buy the same one again as it was easy to use and I haven't found any I like more. The battery lasted a long time, as I used it for well over ten years.

Battery life?

Hey Everyone, just curious about the battery life for this calculator. I got mine in September and only used for about 30 mins to 40 mins about 5 to 6 times a week. The battery died this week and I was surprised. I see the previous commenter also experienced something similar. Did anyone else?Other than that, I thought that it was a very good price and it worked well for me. Thanks!

Good calculator that does that job it is meant for (Middle School Math).

Pros:1. excellent calculator2. sturdy plastic construction3. perfect for 7th grade/Middle School math4. relatively inexpensiveCons:1. not really usable for higher level math, so an upgrade is likely in the future well before the lifetime of this calculator is near it's end.I really didn't want to get this but this was the best choice of the recommended choices from my daughter's school for her 7th grade.I wanted to go top notch and get something that will last her not only for 7th, but all the way to college and maybe beyond. I mean, really, I bought her the "recommended" calculator last year, now this year this is the best of the "recommended" calculators, and next year, and the year after and the year after than...I know how these things work. EVERY year, I will be buying her a new calculator. Why not just get the best right now and get it out of the way so I don't have to waste time ordering/buying a new calculator every year? Well, I am still a little wary to put a $160 calculator in her hands right now (and she wants a $500 smartphone to boot)...yeah right. Show me some serious responsibility and care for the items you have and then I'll reconsider and get her the things she wants. I still have my calculators from middle school that I used in high school and then in college...and yes, they still work.Remember one thing....calculators are not like cell phones that get upgraded each and every year. The latest top of the line TI calc is the same one they have been selling for TEN YEARS...and you can still buy the same exact HP financial calculator that I bought over 30 years ago. Yeah, innovation and upgrades are not that common in the calculator industry. The only thing they do is change the exterior appears...all smoke and mirrors.CONCLUSION: If you have a kid/s going to middle school (especially 7th grade) this could be the perfect calculator to get them. Just try to get on sale...$20 is not bad, but I have seen this go down as low as $10...and that $10 savings goes a long way in buying other school supplies that you need.

The all important middle school calculator

When your grandson enters middle school this is the go to calculator or choice! It is a great value for the money and with the name Texas Instruments you cannot go wrong with the quality and dependability. It is a quick learning curve to work the different functions. The screen display is really good and has held up through 6th grade abuse very well.

Good but…

This is super good but if using this for school and you’re middle school, I recommend buying the ti-84 plus instead because youll need it in highschool and it does cost a lot of money and I bought this in middle school and been using it but i realized i need the graphing calculator so now its costing me dxyra money for it so i just recommend buying the ti 84 instead first for school so you dont have to buy it later on after spending money for this. this is really good though

We're amassing a collection of these

These are my daughter's go-to calculators. They seem to not really work with the solar cell included in them. They basically require the battery, and as such they tend to die at unexpected times, like when my daughter's about to have a test in college, thus necessitating an overnight order to be shipped to her. Then I replace the battery in the one that died the next time she comes home, but somehow she doesn't remember to take a spare with her, so we repeat this process, over and over. I think I have at least 4 of these now.
