Southwestern Equine Lunge Line for Horses Cotton Horse Lunge Line with Bolt Snap & Rubber Stop (Red, 24')

This is a great flat lungeline. It’s a good length, the rubber is a good weight, the hook is also a good weight and is sturdy, the rope doesn’t wear down or get torn very easily, I’ve been using this for over a year now and it still works great and has lots of life left in it. I like the flat lungeline bc it’s a little lighter weight and doesn’t get as tangled in your hand, easier to hold, give slack, and gather quickly. Not a super soft material, good for grip but not if you have soft baby hands you might get a rope burn if your horse pulls suddenly or you give too much slack too quickly. I would highly recommend this product to anyone learning how to use a lungeline or with a lot of experience. If you like a lot of extra length at the end of your rope while lunging or plan to do any ties around your horse for training, this might not be the one for you, it’s prefect for working in a round pen or very small arena and keeping close control of your horse.

I tied my mare with this. She bolted and the metal in the clamp busted. Not the clamp-the metal itself on the clamp broke in half. It looked like pot metal-but I’m no expert. Would never buy again-I could have been killed while trusting this tie.

I like the rubber at the end of the line. The weight seems appropriate for what I need. The only problem I have is that the snap is too big to put through the holes on the side of my halter. So I can't run the line from one side of his mouth, up over the headstall, and hook it to the other side.

My last lunge line was heavier, having a stiffer feel. Came up missing. This lunge line is like lunging with a wide shoe lace. It tangles easily. My old lunge I could drop excess on the ground. Not this one. It becomes a semi-tangled mess. This is unsafe.

This line is nice. What I really like is it is flat, so it is a lot lighter than the thick round longe lines. Your arm doesn't get as tired holding up a bundle of thick heavy rope while lunging. Has a stop on the end and a nice clip on the other end.

It's pretty light weight and flat so if you want something heavier this won't work for you. We keep it outside the arena for whoever needs it and it's holding up so far.

No major issues. Good line for the price. I've had better quality rope before which is the only reason for not picking 5 stars.
